Hey ladies, hope everyone's okay. For context, my husband and I are of brown heritage with visibly brown names.
We're expecting a baby in November and had our first health visitor call in August. I've built a lovely community of mums on this app who are mostly white, and asked around to know whether they had had / were having health visitor calls as well. Strangely they didn't /hadn't had any contact from a HV. I've just heard from a non-white mum-to-be that they were having a HV call as well.
I may be paranoid but do HVs target non-white parents in particular as we've had different upbringings abroad? Trying to make sure we know how to bring babies up the right way? Perhaps they think we'll beat and gaslight them the way foreign parents born in the 60s did (of course we won't!!)
Sorry for the rant but I'd like to know if anyone else has suspected or experienced this from HVs (or is it just my paranoia?) thank you x

Hey! Very white mama here with a questionable name đ I have 2 little ones. Everyone is supposed to have 1 pre baby visit to get the Red book, meet their HV and ask any questions they may have around support groups or living with a baby or about mental health if applicable. Then they don't visit till after baby is born. It is just pot luck when you see the HV. With my first it was booked in when I was 39+4 but she was born at 39+2 so it was a bit of a surprise visit especially as she was born at the weekend and our appointment was first thing monday morning. With my little boy it was at 26 ish weeks and he was born 39+5
Me and my hubby arenât agreeing is it positive or negative

Me and husband are going back and forth on baby #2.
I always thought weâd be one and done, however my husband is desperate for another baby.
I would like another baby, but I just donât know when the right time is. One half thinks to start trying soon, have the smaller gap and just go for it.
But then the other half thinks do I wait until my toddler is starting school? But then thatâs a long time away really.
I just donât know! How did you know it was the right time?

Im a mama to a 7 yr old biracial (black/white) boy. His dad (or dadâs family) isnât in his life. Im trying to get my son to understand that he is black also and that itâs ok to be both white and black. He doesnât like it when we bring it up (we donât push it). I asked him if itâs because his family (that he knows) is white. He said yes. Iâm planning on getting him more age appropriate books for him with characters that look like him. Some black history shirts and books. What else can I do? Help this mama out!!
