What does pelvic floor therapy involve ?

I’m not sure if I need to shave or if I’m peeing on myself a little.

I went to athletico for my pelvic floor pt. They can assess strength with a finger partially inserted and check for prolapse but my pt also gave me the option not to do internal if I was uncomfortable and just do her assessment based on external stuff. They found my bladder prolapse - I was peeing on my self a little. Like drops. They also addressed general muscle weakness due to the birth and taught me exercises for pelvic floor and body. I found it very helpful.

I’m actually doing that now. I don’t shave. Nothing they haven’t seen before. I have had fingers shoved up where the sun don’t shine if that’s where the problem is. Right now I’m focusing on my scar that’s causing pain outside of the body. So your experience is based off of wherever your pain source is coming from. At least that’s what I’ve been told. I was scared to go at first but definitely happy I am doing it.

I'm in pelvic floor therapy now. I did not get examined down there. She asked extensive questions about my history so she could try and pin point where my issue is coming from and how to better help me. We do some exercises during therapy then she gives me exercises to work on at home on a daily basis.

Own room

When is everyone realistically thinking of putting their babies in their own room? I feel like we would all sleep so much better if mine was in his own room by now!

Being intimate after an episiotomy

I gave birth 4 weeks ago and the delivery was difficult, my baby was in the wrong position and with the cord around her neck, but the midwife didnt check and got me to push for an hour with no luck. I then was taken to the operating room and had a forceps delivery with an episiotomy. Im now 4 weeks post partum and I am conscious of my intimate area as I can always feel it but its not exactly painful just not comfortable like it was before. A few days ago a midwife said my stitches look to have gone now and it looks healed but I know ill get it properly reviewed at the 6 week medical check. My husband and I do want to be intimate as its been a while now, but im conscious that my area doesnt look or feel the same as it did before and I dont know what it will be like when I do have sex again. Im curious what others experiences have been who have had an episiotomy.

People with 2 or more children!

What ages did your children share a room? I have a 2.5 year old who sleeps through the night no issues, and a 7 month old who currently still wakes at least once in the night and has a bottle, we have a 2 bed house so they will be sharing a room and some point but just wondering what ages people moved their youngest in with other kids !

Cold sore and baby is two weeks old

I have a tingling on my lip and I’m thinking it’s the start of a cold sore as has been the case in the past. Has anyone had this before?? How did you protect your baby from exposure? I don’t know how best to protect him. I’ve obviously stopped kissing him, but I was kissing him today before I felt this tingle. I’m worried about spreading this to him and exposure he may have already had. Is it overboard to contact the GP?

I’ll be getting patches tomorrow but want to make sure I’m doing everything I can, so if anyone has any suggestions thanks in advance!

I feel so guilty and awful that I may have exposed him. It’s second nature to kiss him now so I’m struggling a little and I’m worried I’ll slip up. I’m so angry I have to worry about this. Thanks to my grandma when I was young, I was exposed and now I have to deal with this. To those mummas saying no to people kissing their babies, keep saying no you’re doing what’s best for them!
