Advice on disobedience

Ladies, I’m really needing some advice on how we should be disciplining our boy (or if we even should)

For context, Christianity is new to our family. We’ve been working hard this year on our faith and recently started attending church.

My almost 6 year old is very strong willed. I don’t want to change who he is, but sometimes I wonder whether we’re doing him more harm than good and he won’t turn into a nice person.

Today at church a group of children were outside playing and a lady called them all in. My son goes in then decides he wasn’t done and went back. Even went straight past me did not listen when I said no. He said he didn’t care and was going anyway. I had to follow him with my toddler and get him to come back in. I was so angry (I’m working on this) and honestly so embarrassed that he was the only child acting like this.

Please help me understand what to do with strong willed children. I’ve tried taking things away, explaining things calmly, giving him space and time in his room. I don’t want to be a “you must obey your parent” mum but also, I like you still have to listen to your parents right?! 🫠🫠

Sometimes I teach my kids by treating them the same way they treated me. Next time he wants you to come to him, walk right past him and say you don't care to see or hear what he's talking about. He might be confused, or get angry, sad...depends on him...but then explain-hey, I just wanted to show you how you made mommy feel at church. The way we treat each other causes feelings. Is this how you wanted to feel when you called for me? No? This isn't how me or your church teacher wanted to feel when you walked away from us.

Autism parents did your child go to nursery or pre school?

So my little guy is 24 months and very speech delayed and displaying way above average levels of clinging and refusal to leave my side around other people and children. He cries his eyes out if I make him go to playgroup or softplay. Occasionally he will calm down and start enjoying if its not too busy but only if I am glued to him.
Im being pushed to get him in nursery and I keep being told he'll love it eventually. My fear is that time between now and "eventually"...he is incredibly distressed around everyone except me, his dad and my mum. He is the only child ive seen who can't even stand to be near another child without melting down.
If I force him into nursery im worried ill be pushing him too hard and traumatising him at this point. Other people don't understand the extent of his anxiety...
How have other SEN parents managed?

Baby fell off couch

my husband was supposed to be watching the baby so i could sleep in the morning and he set the baby 7 weeks old on the couch while he went to the restroom, well baby wiggled off and fell face first ☹️ i woke up to the crying we both ran to see he was laying face down on the tile floor and we rushed to the hospital they did X rays and they said nothing is wrong internally he just has a bruise on his forehead and bruised nose. IM SO HEARTBROKEN. we’re home now and baby is acting normally but i just feel like the worst parents ever. did this happen to anyone else ever or are we really the worst?? and is it likely he could get a long term disability from this ? has it happened to anyone else? also yes i’m very angry at my husband, i never leave the baby unsupervised. if something worse was wrong with the baby i was seriously considering divorce while sitting in the hospital room!

Would this put you off?

My daughter started preschool 2 weeks ago. When I picked her up one day last week her key worker said she hadn’t ate her lunch and asked how her eating was at home. Today when I picked her up she said she hadn’t ate her lunch again and said if she continues to not eat she’ll have to just do mornings. My issue is she went on to say she’s SO small so she can’t go without eating (with such an attitude) and just basically started making digs about her. I looked in her lunch box once we’d left and she’d eaten a cheese sandwich, sausage roll, babybel, yoghurt, strawberries and blueberries. All she had left was crisps and a belvita bar. They also get 2 snacks from preschool so I feel like that’s more than enough for a 2 year old. I don’t understand why she would say she’d eaten nothing and make such a big deal when she ate majority of it. She then carried on making digs about her saying she’s stubborn (what 2 year old isn’t) and they have to tell her no a lot. I say making digs again because she wasn’t just telling me she had an attitude and was basically just complaining about her. It’s left a really bad taste in my mouth and when I asked my toddler if she had a good day she said no (she always comes out happy saying she’s had a good day) and when I asked her why she said my teacher

Activity ideas for 1yo and 3yr olds

I'm struggling. I take my boys outside every single day but they're still so full of energy. They don't stay very busy inside and I can't get much done. What are some activities or toys that keep your kids busy around these ages? We read books daily and they like to pretend to "clean" lately but im looking for other ideas please!

Reward charts?

I have a 2yo toddler and I’m thinking about getting him a reward chart. I’ve done a bit of reading and it looks like there are split opinions on whether they are good or bad for development. I’d welcome any advice people have their own experience or research ♥️
