Very unsettled baby girl tonight 😢
My 4 week old seems to just not want to settle/sleep unless she is on me or my husband or being nursed by me. Every time I try to transfer tonight she just starts crying and getting inconsolable. Have made sure she’s fed, burped, helped with gas, changed etc but nothing seems to be working tonight when usually she is ok. I am absolutely exhausted and my husband is working tomorrow so having to manage solo is pretty tough. Anyone else or any suggestions?

I am having this too with my 3 week old and has happened since 2 weeks old. Seems to be reflux or constipation on some nights but I think it’s quite normal for them to want to be cuddled at this age.
I tend to cuddle until she’s fallen asleep and then try to put her down but it does involve a lot of rocking, soothing to settle my little one.
Swaddling, swaying and shhhhing is something that’s worked for us plus the sleepy penguin playlist. Dummy could also be worth a try if you have one.

Nursery bugs/loose bowels
Hi all my daughter started nursery 2 weeks ago on her third day at nursery she started with diarrhoea a few times a day leaking though her clothes then by Tuesday she started to go off her food and milk and had a slight temp so I took her to doctors, who said she just had a viral infection or something. Then by Wednesday/Thursday she started eating more food and milk food was getting a bit more firm and no temp then nursery rang Friday and said to get her because she had like 3 loose bowel movements and she’s really sore now and even today she’s still having loose poos I also noticed it’s a bit snotty/mucus and also smells like fish.
Had anyone had the same with there littles ones and what was it? I know babies pick stuff up at nursery but this has been going on over a week now but she’s just grumpy pretty much all the time and she’s normally really happy.

Taking toys away
This may seem dramatic for some, however me and my partner have decided, that tomorrow while my daughter (3) is in nursery we will be putting all her toys in storage and telling her they are in the bin. We will keep a few low stimulation ones like a few or her Dave books, and sensory things but everything else gone.
This is a result of her behaviour drastically over the last 6 months has been getting worse and worse. It is gotten to the point where she hits me with full fists, kicks me, pulls my hair, slaps me, throws all her hard toys at me, take toys and slams them against other surfaces to create noise especially when asked to keep it a low level. It’s also gotten to the point where if we ask “her lets keep feet on floor” or “let’s walk nicely” “hands to sled please” these are follow by a scream till her face is red, and repeated “no no no no” till she starts slapping her self, or starts having a melt down. To which we always intervene if she’s getting herself we say “no ouchies please” or she’s melting down, we cuddle her and comfort her, but doing this 5 times working 20-30 minutes is mentally draining.
And don’t get me started if I ever raise my voice god anyone walking by the house probably thinks this kid is being skinned alive.
So please comment away on if this is dramatic of us as parents, or if this may reduce the stimulation in her environment, or anything else ??

Bottle recommendations for my 3.5-week-old baby girl 🍼❤️
I’m breastfeeding and pumping for night feeds via bottle. We’re currently using MAM anti-colic bottles with size 0 teats (self-sterilising bottles), but we’ve noticed that our little one seems to gulp milk and swallow quite a lot of air during bottle feeds.
Although she burps after every feed, she develops hiccups around 15–20 minutes later, which makes her uncomfortable and disturbs her sleep. This happens after almost every bottle feed but not after breastfeeding.
We’ve also tried Tommee Tippee, but she experienced hiccups with those too.
Someone suggested using Lansinoh teats with MAM bottles, so I’d love to hear your experiences!
Also, Should we try extra slow flow or slow flow Lansinoh teats?
Any tips for reducing gulping, air intake and post-feed hiccups?
Would really appreciate your recommendations! ❤️
