Before we had baby girl, my partner told me to tell him should I struggle mentally when she was here. Fast forward to now, 9 months on awaiting a course of CBT for PPD, anxiety & a little rage.
For context, my partner works full time & comes home at 2.50pm everyday apart from Fridays where he’s home by 10am. He cooks tea & cleans the bottles. I look after baby all day & all night, I’ve always done pretty much everything when it comes to caring for little miss night wake ups etc.
On & off I’ve really been struggling & it doesn’t matter how I word what I say of how I feel, it ALWAYS gets misconstrued into something else. I say I feel like I’m constantly against the clock? So is he. Etc. Etc.
I have never once taken away from what my partner does but for me, I feel I never clock off not even for 10 minutes & he does although he doesn’t feel he does he doesn’t see the 30/40 minutes downtime on his PlayStation he gets etc. or watching something in the evening, the lie ins at the weekend etc. I co-sleep also because it’s the only way me & her get some form of sleep although I’d love for her to be in her own cot I just don’t have it in me to tackle that on my own.
I start back to work in 2 weeks & obviously I will be on duty before work & as soon as I finish work until I return to work again the next day. Can someone please tell me how I’m supposed to get across do my partner that I am feeling bitter & frustrated & resentful without him taking it that I’m saying he does sweet FA because it’s not that I just need more help with the baby. I’d like half an hour in the evenings to myself where I’m not watching a monitor.
I’m just at my wits end tbh I really am. I’ve tried so many ways to get across that I’m struggling with doing EVERYTHING for the baby, I’ve explained I don’t switch off & that maybe once or twice a week it would be really nice if he could put her to bed & we role reverse so I can wash bottles etc. just for something different - the 1 night a week role reversal lasted maybe 2 weeks.
I’m struggling to cope with the idea of how I’m going to do all of this plus work in a very busy health care setting that’s mentally draining some days & not crack up.
Sorry for the long post I just feel so done. Not with being a mum, not with the relationship just of how it makes me feel when I’m burnt out & im somehow still attacking him.
Maybe I should do more? Maybe I am the problem & I need to accept that. Maybe I need to stay quiet, stay in my lane & then everyone around me stays happy.
I just don’t feel much like me anymore. Extremely exhausted Mummy, frustrated & irritated partner. I feel sad

I'm sorry you're going through such a difficult time. I could have written this myself back when my little boy was that age (he's now almost 3).
I was in a very similar situation - dealing with PPD and being the primary parent for our son. My husband was amazing with everything else, the cleaning/household things, walking the dog etc. And so he also felt that he never got a break. However to me, those things would have been a break! We did try and swap roles sometimes, but the baby always wanted me.
I will say that going back to work helped me. Even though it's busy and stressful, it's a different type of stress and it gave me another purpose and a break from thinking about Mum life. All I can advise is to lean on any support you have. I also found it helped up be specific when I needed time, so instead of asking my partner for a break at some point that week I'd say 'on Thursday I'm taking the dog for a 40 minute walk after work, whilst you do baby's bath'.

Also, will your little one be in childcare? I would sometimes book a couple of hours of annual leave, so I could finish work early and have some time to myself whilst my son was being looked after (can be hard with Mum guilt, but you deserve time for yourself).
Also a bit of hope for the future - my son is almost 3 and now wants Dad for everything 😂. It's also easier as they get older and can occupy themselves more, you definitely get more time. He's also in bed by 7, so it's nice knowing I'll have that time in an evening x
So my little guy is 24 months and very speech delayed and displaying way above average levels of clinging and refusal to leave my side around other people and children. He cries his eyes out if I make him go to playgroup or softplay. Occasionally he will calm down and start enjoying if its not too busy but only if I am glued to him.
Im being pushed to get him in nursery and I keep being told he'll love it eventually. My fear is that time between now and "eventually"...he is incredibly distressed around everyone except me, his dad and my mum. He is the only child ive seen who can't even stand to be near another child without melting down.
If I force him into nursery im worried ill be pushing him too hard and traumatising him at this point. Other people don't understand the extent of his anxiety...
How have other SEN parents managed?

my husband was supposed to be watching the baby so i could sleep in the morning and he set the baby 7 weeks old on the couch while he went to the restroom, well baby wiggled off and fell face first ☹️ i woke up to the crying we both ran to see he was laying face down on the tile floor and we rushed to the hospital they did X rays and they said nothing is wrong internally he just has a bruise on his forehead and bruised nose. IM SO HEARTBROKEN. we’re home now and baby is acting normally but i just feel like the worst parents ever. did this happen to anyone else ever or are we really the worst?? and is it likely he could get a long term disability from this ? has it happened to anyone else? also yes i’m very angry at my husband, i never leave the baby unsupervised. if something worse was wrong with the baby i was seriously considering divorce while sitting in the hospital room!

My daughter started preschool 2 weeks ago. When I picked her up one day last week her key worker said she hadn’t ate her lunch and asked how her eating was at home. Today when I picked her up she said she hadn’t ate her lunch again and said if she continues to not eat she’ll have to just do mornings. My issue is she went on to say she’s SO small so she can’t go without eating (with such an attitude) and just basically started making digs about her. I looked in her lunch box once we’d left and she’d eaten a cheese sandwich, sausage roll, babybel, yoghurt, strawberries and blueberries. All she had left was crisps and a belvita bar. They also get 2 snacks from preschool so I feel like that’s more than enough for a 2 year old. I don’t understand why she would say she’d eaten nothing and make such a big deal when she ate majority of it. She then carried on making digs about her saying she’s stubborn (what 2 year old isn’t) and they have to tell her no a lot. I say making digs again because she wasn’t just telling me she had an attitude and was basically just complaining about her. It’s left a really bad taste in my mouth and when I asked my toddler if she had a good day she said no (she always comes out happy saying she’s had a good day) and when I asked her why she said my teacher

I'm struggling. I take my boys outside every single day but they're still so full of energy. They don't stay very busy inside and I can't get much done. What are some activities or toys that keep your kids busy around these ages? We read books daily and they like to pretend to "clean" lately but im looking for other ideas please!

I have a 2yo toddler and I’m thinking about getting him a reward chart. I’ve done a bit of reading and it looks like there are split opinions on whether they are good or bad for development. I’d welcome any advice people have their own experience or research ♥️
