Controlling behaviour?

If your partner didn’t force you to go to bed at a certain time, but got annoyed if you went to bed before he was ready or wanted to stay down for longer when he wants to go to bed, would that be considered controlling? Seeing as there’s no forcing involved just getting annoyed by it?

It depends how he expresses that getting annoyed.

It is odd though.

I think maybe asking him why he does that, I honestly did used to get a bit upset if we went to bed at different times because we’re always busy and bedtime is the only time we have together. But it would only be if we hadn’t spent any time together in days. I think if it’s his one scenario he gets irritated by and he’s not forcing you to do what he wants it’s worth a conversation. If he is forcing you or you do what he wants you to do because you don’t want to upset him then there might be an element of control.

What does it matter what time fully grown adults go to bed? You go when you choose depending on what time you need to be up and how much sleep you need, if you're not feeling great.
If your OH is getting at you because of your sleep schedule I'd say this is the start of odd controlling behaviour

I guess it depends if you were spending time together or doing separate things. He shouldn’t be getting annoyed if you’re doing your own thing before bed. Me and my husband have always gone to bed separately.

It definitely can be! This is one of the many things my ex did that I didn’t realise was wrong until I’d left and could look back at it properly. It wasn’t necessarily an issue if I wanted to go to bed before him, but when his day was finished, mine had to be too. 🤦🏼‍♀️ If he wanted to go to bed, I couldn’t be anywhere else in the house. If I needed to do college work in the office, he’d be in there huffing and puffing about how tired he was, but refusing to go to bed without me. I’d feel pressured to hurry up, or just give up and go to bed. I think it really depends on how someone is expressing it. It isn’t controlling if someone simply wants to stay with you while you finish your college work, for example. If they’re happy to sit there and do their own thing, there’s no pressure, and you still feel completely free to carry on with what you’re doing, I wouldn’t consider that controlling.
It’s the intent, the behaviour and the pressure that can make it controlling. xx

Nighttime nappies

Hi all, does anyone have recommendations for a good nappy for nights? 3 month old is sleeping in good stretches but nappies can’t keep up. Tried Aldi and pampers and now on Sainsbury’s and they are great in day but not at night?! Thanks so much

How much sex a month?

How many times a month in the first year postpartum do you and your husband have sex? (Trying to figure out what the normal range is for partners with a baby!)

Crying before every nap

My three month old cries before every nap. He’s fine in the night when fed to sleep, but before every single day nap there is 5-25 minutes of crying. We follow wake windows as best we can but it doesn’t seem to matter whether he’s awake one hour or three hours!

Did anyone else have this, and has come out the other side?

Swaddle

Hey! I’m really interested to hear people’s thoughts/experiences with swaddling for newborns? I’ve heard it’s supposed to be great to keep them relaxed etc but also was told yesterday it’s not a method that they use anymore which is completely new to me!! Any thoughts?

Sleeping through the night 10 weeks

My baby girl is sleeping from 10-5:30/6:30. Just wondering if I should let sleep I try to wake her to feed but she has no interest in feeding.

She’s also reached well above her birth weight she was born 3.2kg and is bow 5.6kg.

I’m just concerned that the GP saying to still wake her for feeds was more of a developmental reason that a weight reason.

Has anyone else experienced this?
