Hey all,
Planning to breastfeed when the baby comes but also very much will go with the flow as I feel at the time. What did you ladies buy ahead of time and what do you think can wait? I've bought some breast pads and milk bags but not sure if I want to invest in a breast pump just yet?

I bought a breast pump with my first after a few months as I had intended to go back to work but ultimately didnt. I personally barely used the pump as I ended up exclusively breastfeeding and my son was with me at home. If i was to use it again i would need to buy new parts as honestly have no idea where I put them or if they are lost š¤¦š½āāļøš¤¦š½āāļø I would say keep an eye out on offers, etc for the one you plan to get but maybe wait until you need it. I am planning to ask my midwife/hospital as I have heard sometimes you can borrow one so may be worth looking into that also just in case you do need a pump before you manage to buy one xx

I would buy the lansinoh breast therapy packs, they are really handy when your breasts are sore or feel hard. Nipple cream and silver cups are a must have! The silver cups are expensive but so worth it. Breast pads and some nursing bras.
Then if pumping: bottles, milk storage bags, pump (with the right flange size), cold water steriliser. Think thatās it xx

I wouldn't bother getting a pump or anything related to a pump. There's more than enough time to get that if/when you need it. You may want to choose one though so if you need it, you already know the exact one you'd get. Check the advise too, breastfeeding goes well then it's actually not recommended to pump for the first 6 weeks anyway. Like the other ladies said, you need breast pads and nipple cream. I'd also try find some super comfy maternity bras, especially for the night time.
Personally, I bought 1 bottle (a Philips Avent bottle, recommended when you want to breastfeed) and 1 bottle of premade formula (you can get individual bottles of aptimil or SMA for example) JUST in case you need it in the middle of the night etc. One bottle doesn't cost much and will easily get you through until shops are open again š

If helpful I am a ftm and similar to you going to see what happens. I have bought (all from lasinoh): storage bags, pads, manual pump, nipple balm and some bottles. If it all works out I think Iāll buy the hot cold things, silver nipple cups and maybe an electric pump but relying on next day delivery if needed!!!

I would maybe get a manual pump just in case, but really you shouldn't need it.

I have milk catchers that go in my bra which is super helpful in the beginning to catch your letdown, a great way to build a stash without pumping. Iāve personally never needed to use silver cups or anything like that, or nipple cream. Just remember it will be a bit sore in the beginning as itās new for your nipples and while you get the hang of it, but if it carries on being sore then itās worth getting in touch with someone for some help.
Defo breast pads though, maternity bras are handy but if these arenāt something you want to get then you can just wear comfy ones from Primark maybe (I do this but also got maternity bras from Primark which arenāt actually that bad!)
You can always decide if you want to pump at a later date - see how you get on first. Everything is basically available next day anyways, plus youāll have loads of time to research in your sleepless nights š

I am a ftm and would like to breastfeed too but my midwife has advised against buying anything now because it all depends on how baby will feed! So I will hold on from getting the steriliser and pump for now plus we do have enough time after but I want to combi feed so my husband and our family members can also feed baby when I am doing other little things around!
But I have to get nursing bras and the postpartum bits like breast pads, disposable underwear, perineal bottle and other little things too but I will be getting these from boots as they have some good deals on atm!
Thanks so much all! This has been so so useful! Thank the lord we're in the "next day delivery" era hahah
Some of my daughter's clothes have become so stained and most of these stains have happened while she's been at nursery.
I am struggling so much to get the stains out!
I feel like if I send her in stained clothes I'll be judged or looked at weirdly like I can't afford to clean her clothes or something?
What do you do with stained clothes?
Does anyone have tips for stain removal? Red/orange food (I know sunlight but we're going into winter where it's scarce). Brown knee stains? Just like dirt stains? And yellow curry stains š£ help me please

I feel like the worlds worst parent.
My baby is 18 weeks old and has become the lightest sleeper. I have tried sleep training, co-sleeping, feeding to sleep, rocking and patting to sleep but he just wakes up as soon as his head hits the crib. I make sure I he not up to long in the day and go over any wake windows and he lets me contact nap or put him in the najel sleep carrier but that doesnāt work at night. Iām not sure if I didnāt put him down enough when he was smaller and thatās had an effect with this now.
I speak to other mums who babies are the same age and they all sleep through the night.
Can any one tell me what I am doing wrong please. This will be week 4 with hardly a sleep now.

My LO who just turned 4 month old can roll both ways for last 2-3 weeks. It was fine until she flips on her tummy within one second of putting her down. It doesn't stop there, she is using both arms and feet to move forward and she does manage to get ahead a tiny bit. I don't mind whatever she naturally wants to do but this comes with several minutes of grunting, getting tired and frustrated at herself. What do I do? Send help š„²

My baby is still waking up for milk at age 2, if I donāt give it to her she screams and cries, itās driving me crazy and I am exhausted every single day because of it, I never feel like Iām getting enough rest. Does anyone have any tips for how to get her to just sleep all the way through the night without waking up? I am tempted to give her melatonin but sheās only 2 and doctors advise against it. Maybe magnesium would be a better option? She wakes up SEVERAL times in the night the way a newborn would⦠itās so draining.
