Nursery Bug Survival Kit 🤧

My daughter is heading off to nursery in the next couple of weeks, so naturally I’m already stocking up on Calpol and Nurofen in preparation for the inevitable 18 month long cycle of back-to-back nursery bugs 😂

Am I missing anything from my shopping basket that I should have ready for her? What are your nursery sick day essentials?

And what about for me? As I know I'll get second hand whatever she brings home! I’m still breastfeeding, so I can’t have decongestants, which rules out my go to Lemsip😭 I’ve been stocking up on ginger shots instead, but I’m sure there must be some other BF-friendly remedies I’m missing.

What are your go to remedies for surviving the inevitable nursery bugs while breastfeeding? 🤧

Me too! Started nursery a week ago and already on bug number one 🤣 I’ve found the calpol plug in diffusers really good for my little one xxx

We've had a cold so far.

I definitely found having a saline nose spray was a must have, for me and my LO 🤣

I'd recommend having dioralyte (if its ok when breastfeeding) just incase the not so great norovirus comes your way. Along with having some crackers and lemonade for just supplies ❤️

my daughter started a new nursery at beginning of September and touch wood hasnt caught anything yet as they seem to keep kids off if sick but last nursery was a different type of bug each week! all good things to keep to hand and if comfortable with it, a teddy that can put in microwave, my daughter loved it and helped a lot especially ones can get with lavender in them or ones that go in freezer

My lo started nursery properly last week and has since had hand, foot and mouth disease and currently has norovirus ☠️

Following as well as my LO had his first settling in session. Hasn't been unwell for months and then bam this morning snotty nose and a slight cough. Got the Calpol plug in on tonight and going to do an olbass oil steam in the morning and he will sit in with me whilst I shower

UK mums - Do you send your child to nursery in stained clothing?

Some of my daughter's clothes have become so stained and most of these stains have happened while she's been at nursery.

I am struggling so much to get the stains out!

I feel like if I send her in stained clothes I'll be judged or looked at weirdly like I can't afford to clean her clothes or something?

What do you do with stained clothes?

Does anyone have tips for stain removal? Red/orange food (I know sunlight but we're going into winter where it's scarce). Brown knee stains? Just like dirt stains? And yellow curry stains 😣 help me please

Bed suggestions please

This is my 4 year olds bedroom.

Can anyone recommend a bed that would fit in the room but not take all her space ?

She’s 109cm tall not sure if that makes any difference 👀.

She does not have 2 tvs the video was taken whilst re organising😂

4 month regression

I feel like the worlds worst parent.
My baby is 18 weeks old and has become the lightest sleeper. I have tried sleep training, co-sleeping, feeding to sleep, rocking and patting to sleep but he just wakes up as soon as his head hits the crib. I make sure I he not up to long in the day and go over any wake windows and he lets me contact nap or put him in the najel sleep carrier but that doesn’t work at night. I’m not sure if I didn’t put him down enough when he was smaller and that’s had an effect with this now.
I speak to other mums who babies are the same age and they all sleep through the night.
Can any one tell me what I am doing wrong please. This will be week 4 with hardly a sleep now.

Crawling/Forward movement

My LO who just turned 4 month old can roll both ways for last 2-3 weeks. It was fine until she flips on her tummy within one second of putting her down. It doesn't stop there, she is using both arms and feet to move forward and she does manage to get ahead a tiny bit. I don't mind whatever she naturally wants to do but this comes with several minutes of grunting, getting tired and frustrated at herself. What do I do? Send help 🥲

Breast feeding-what to buy?

Hey all,

Planning to breastfeed when the baby comes but also very much will go with the flow as I feel at the time. What did you ladies buy ahead of time and what do you think can wait? I've bought some breast pads and milk bags but not sure if I want to invest in a breast pump just yet?

sleep

My baby is still waking up for milk at age 2, if I don’t give it to her she screams and cries, it’s driving me crazy and I am exhausted every single day because of it, I never feel like I’m getting enough rest. Does anyone have any tips for how to get her to just sleep all the way through the night without waking up? I am tempted to give her melatonin but she’s only 2 and doctors advise against it. Maybe magnesium would be a better option? She wakes up SEVERAL times in the night the way a newborn would… it’s so draining.
