First Trimester Trenches

Omg…I’ll be 12 weeks this week and I’m starting to feel like myself again, but starting at 6 weeks to 11.5 weeks I thought I was going to die. I was SO sick and when I wasn’t throwing up I was severely nauseous. I finally got the energy to deep clean my room, which made me feel a lot better. My morning sickness was so bad I was showering every 3 days, even the smell of the shower water made me sick. Now that I’m feeling better I’m just really lonely, I feel like my few friends I do have are enjoying life and it’s making me depressed being alone all the time. Especially when I feel like nobody understands what I’m going through…on top of that I can’t stand my bf now that I’m pregnant lol

I can relate to all of this. Depressed because I’m jealous of everyone just living their normal lives, and can’t stand my fiancé right now. I’m 12 weeks and 3 days and I really hope it gets better soon. Hang in there hopefully we will turn a corner soon!

The nausea subsides after 16 weeks. U will be able to taste and smell normally again! The depression will lift too. Its like a cloud you come out of.

14 month sleep regression?!

My boy has always been a terrible sleeper and ever never really noticed a sleep regression with how bad his sleep is anyway but my lord he’s up every 10-15 mins and by 12-3am he won’t go back Off at all he’s literally getting 1-2 hours a night or constant broken sleep and fighting is this normal? Any tips?

6-8 weeks old crisis 😭

Help I’m honestly going crazy. Baby boy was getting 3-4 hour stretches at night until a few days ago where he started getting so much fussier, cluster feeding all night and only doing 2 hour stretches WITHOUT nay naps in the evening also. I’m going insane. Please tell me it gets a bit better again

Sleep during day

I use the Huckleberry app, and a lot of the advice for daytime naps seems to be blackout curtains, white noise, etc. But that feels a bit excessive to me when it’s the middle of the day, so I’m looking for more realistic advice.

My baby is 3.5 months old and actually sleeps quite well at night. He usually only wakes 2–3 times to breastfeed. We used to co-sleep, but he has recently moved into a next-to-me cot and is doing well there at night.

Daytime naps are a completely different story! He pretty much refuses to sleep anywhere except his BabyBjörn bouncer. Please don’t come at me about the bouncer, I sit right beside him and watch him closely the entire time.

The problem is that because I have to stay there watching him, I can’t get anything done while he naps.

Has anyone managed to get their baby to nap in a cot during the day without completely blacking out the room? I’d love realistic tips on what actually helped your babies sleep during the day in a normal, light room. Did they eventually just get used to it? Any routines or tricks that worked for you?

I’ve given up being anonymous 😂

Hi mums, I’m really looking for some advice because I’m feeling angry and hurt.

I’m a first-time mum and my son is still very young. Over the past few months, things with my mother-in-law have become increasingly difficult. There have been hurtful comments towards me, criticism about my parenting, and issues with boundaries.

There was also an incident where my son was unwell and struggling with feeding. Instead of asking how he was or showing concern, we felt accused of lying or exaggerating the situation and keeping her away from him. That really hurt, especially as we were already worried and trying to do what was best for our baby.

My partner and I decided to take some space because the situation was affecting us as a family. I recently reached out to her myself because I genuinely wanted to try and talk things through calmly. I suggested meeting for a walk and having an honest conversation, but she ignored my message and instead called my partner while he was at work.

When he didn’t answer, she told him that if he didn’t answer, “this whole situation was going to get a whole lot worse” and that she had spoken to people who said she had a “high chance of winning.”

The thing that has really upset me is that she has previously told both me and my partner that she would take our son away from us. Hearing words like “winning” and “fighting for my grandson” has made me feel like my child is being used as a threat or a way to pressure us.

I completely understand that grandparents love their grandchildren and want to be involved, but I don’t believe a child should ever be used as leverage in adult disagreements. My partner and I just want a respectful relationship where boundaries are listened to.

At this point, I honestly feel like I don’t even want a relationship with her anymore. I feel like too much has been said and done, and I’m struggling to see how we move forward after feeling like my child has been used against us. Part of me feels like no contact is the only way I can protect my peace and focus on my little family.

Has anyone experienced anything similar with a family member? How did you handle it when someone brought your child into conflict or threatened to take them away? I’m just looking for advice and support because this has been really stressful.❤️

New born bath

I know we definitely won’t give a bath right away, what is the recommended time to give baby an actual bath(instead of sponge bath)

Sleep deprivation is killing me

My baby has never been a ‘good’ sleeper, longest stretch she’s done in 5 months is about 5 hours. But currently she seems to going through the 4 month sleep regression at 5 months? Shes also teething and I think that is making her even more restless, the longest we’re getting is about 2 hours then after midnight she’s up almost every hour. My partner gets up with her half the night but because she’s in the next to me I hear every moment/moan/cry. My brain feels like it’s melting. My patience for everything is wearing thin. Anyone else struggling and or been through this and is out the other side?
