It all started last week when we were on holiday, my daughter who has slept in her own room and bed since 4 months old is now refusing to go to sleep and either repeats she isn't tired or wants to sleep in our bed (We've only let her do this really rarely as she's such a fidget). The only thing that will stop her (,without letting her have what she wants) is for me to stay beside her and then leave when she's asleep...but this is taking hours. Her sleep was fine before and she's been good in a toddler bed since Jan 2026.
Her command of language is really good and so I don't think it's nightmares but she will scream the place down for me to come. She still stays in bed till I come but I think if I left it too long she'll get out.
I also have a six month old who I breastfeed at night, so between them, if this continues, I'm not going to get any sleep 😖 and I start work again next week.
Am I doing the right thing not letting her in our bed? Anyone's just three year old doing/done the same and come out the other side?

Really normal around this age for them to want company and reassurance in the night.
Personally we co-sleep and other than waking for a wee he sleeps through no issues. My toddler sleeps with dad and baby with me.
The fact it’s taking hours to get her back to sleep would suggest she isn’t tired enough.
Is she still napping? If so probably time to drop it and if not bedtime likely needs to be a bit later. If she’s good with language and telling you she’s not tired.. I’d probably be inclined to listen.
On hols did you all share a room? Could also be she’s realised you spend a lot of time with baby in the night and not her x
I use the Huckleberry app, and a lot of the advice for daytime naps seems to be blackout curtains, white noise, etc. But that feels a bit excessive to me when it’s the middle of the day, so I’m looking for more realistic advice.
My baby is 3.5 months old and actually sleeps quite well at night. He usually only wakes 2–3 times to breastfeed. We used to co-sleep, but he has recently moved into a next-to-me cot and is doing well there at night.
Daytime naps are a completely different story! He pretty much refuses to sleep anywhere except his BabyBjörn bouncer. Please don’t come at me about the bouncer, I sit right beside him and watch him closely the entire time.
The problem is that because I have to stay there watching him, I can’t get anything done while he naps.
Has anyone managed to get their baby to nap in a cot during the day without completely blacking out the room? I’d love realistic tips on what actually helped your babies sleep during the day in a normal, light room. Did they eventually just get used to it? Any routines or tricks that worked for you?

I know we definitely won’t give a bath right away, what is the recommended time to give baby an actual bath(instead of sponge bath)

Morning! I hoping there’s some other parents like me and in the same situation or out the other side. 🤞🏼
We were advised to remove by a dentist as they were just starting to move, so to avoid further moving to remove before her next appt. UK based.
*Our LO is 2 (end Aug) and only has dummy for naps and bedtime alone for a long time*
We removed our LO dummy Friday AM, ahead of nap and bedtime via the dummy fairy. We have completed night 4.
Day 1 - Went slightly better than we anticipated (a lot of asking for a dummy’s)
Day 2 - Nap refusal but 4+ night wakes (no mention of dummy) awake for the day 05:10am
Day 3 - Nap Refusal, but did end up napping following a car journey. Bedtime then had further 3 night wakes (no mention of dummy’s) awake for day 05:25
Day 4 - THE WORST OF IT ALL. Fought for 40 mins for nap, did nap for 1hr14. Then bedtime, seemed to ‘settle’ better mentioned dummy 6 times. Went to sleep after 45mins but then woke at 23:30 for 1hr15mins distressed, tantrums and not even about dummy. This then happened again at 04:01. (Awake for the day)
Bedtime is in normal window 7pm-8pm but morning wake time is now very pre 6am. (5:00-5:30)
We are struggling, our little one is distressed and struggling with lack of sleep. Is anyone able to provide guidance and assistance on how long their LO’s took.
I’m not looking for judgement or mean comments that I have seen in the past to other parents. I’m just a parent wanting to hear some humanised stories. Thank you in advance. 💓💓

I’ve had 2 visits from the midwife who’s weighed baby and asked all the questions and gave me info/advise etc. starting to think there will be no point in waiting around for the health visitor I’ve also got midwife coming again few days later . What can I do?

Online I read somewhere around 4-5 months day naps could start lengthening. Has anyone’s baby started doing this who previously only napped 30-40 min? Just curious!

My baby has just turned 6 months and I’m feeling really emotional. ❤️
Since around 3 months she completely refused bottles, so I stopped pumping and exclusively breastfed. She used to nurse a lot for comfort, especially at night while co-sleeping.
Recently I introduced a dummy, and now she seems completely uninterested in the breast 😭 She only still nurses when in deep sleep, especially early morning/night, when she finds the breast herself.
I feel like my baby doesn’t want to breastfeed anymore and it’s breaking my heart. I had hoped to breastfeed until around 2 years. I’m also worried my supply has dropped because I stopped pumping, and my breasts don’t feel engorged anymore.
Has anyone experienced this around 6 months? Did your baby refuse daytime breastfeeding but continue nursing when sleepy? Were you able to get them interested in breastfeeding again?
I really want to continue but don’t want to pressure her. Any advice or reassurance would mean so much. ❤️
