I have postpartum anger and anxiety it's been a year now since I've had my amazing son but I'm still struggling with it. Mainly with the postpartum anger and it only comes up when me and my boyfriend have an argument things will get escalated and I've tried stepping back and taking time but he keeps pushing and says space isn't healthy and we have to figure out in the moment how to solve whatever the problem is. I don't think that's healthy if both of us are frustrated especially if I'm about to blow up like a volcano and ask for time to calm down. I've even used my phone as a fidget where I just scroll and scroll and listen to what he's saying but not making eye contact But then that's rude I'm not paying attention and looking at him. Does anyone have the same issue? How are you dealing with it?
And then I feel bad when I blow up.

I go through the same thing. I go walking when I feel like I’m going 2 explode. I don’t put music on since I notice that gets me more hyped so I just walk until I’m in a better head space. And then we continue our talk because by then both of us are more calm.

It sounds to me like your boyfriend is the problem, I’m sorry to say. I know I can be provocative sometimes because when my fiancé is in the wrong I absolutely cannot let it go but generally if things are getting heated, we both accept that we need space from each other and go to separate rooms and distract ourselves and usually it calms down when we have done that.
Does he work? I found it got worse when he returned to work and I became a stay-at-home-mum and he’d come back overtired and in a mood and I accepted that I wasn’t going to be getting any help with the little one in the week, so I’ve just tried not to interact with him much until he’s come home and had his wind-down time because my dad was a very angry man and caused me to have quite a traumatic childhood and I will do anything to stop my daughter from going through the same.

I went thru it too. We'd take a walk as a family to discuss issues bc it helped me to not be angry and we could get through the conversation. Plus fresh air is good for the babies

Totally, same. Last time I needed 24 hours to cool down to actually be able to talk with him aboout what happened! Pp anxiety+rage are real and even though it might be hard for him to get it, he needs to listen to you when you say you need space before you can talk. It's not productive if you're just shouting at him. It's better to cool down first. I know it's tricky because different people have different ways of dealing with conflict, so it might be hard for him to change his default mode of let's deal with all the issuea head on straight away. But if he won't listen to you, maybe you can find some research to point him to scientific evidence that supports your approach? My partner usually reacts well to these kinds of things. I also suggest looking into nonz-violent communication. It helped me and my partner get back on the right track in our pp communication challenges (even though, even that is probably not the most productive way to talk if you're right in the middle of a full on rage moment!).

I think asking for space when you can feel yourself getting to that point is actually really sensible 🤍 You’re much more likely to have a productive conversation once you’ve both calmed down, rather than trying to solve everything while you’re already overwhelmed.
You could agree on a set amount of time to cool off, then come back to the conversation when you’re ready. And if scrolling helps you regulate enough to listen, I wouldn’t automatically see that as you being rude. You’re recognising your trigger and trying not to explode, which is a good thing. 🥺🤍
What the fuck is that.
Looks like no seat belt, just some bar thing, and a kid that’s small enough to be rear facing in a forward only car seat?? Someone tell me there’s more to this and it’s not as crazy as it looks

Why are we having to pay extra for seats?! I really can't afford to add any more on to the expense. So I'm going to check in, and hope we are next to each other. We are a family of 5, 2 adults and 3 children.
How likely is it that we will be split - and staff care enough to give seats together? Please let me know if this has happened to anyone. I really can't be adding £300 more just for tickets.

How do I stop a man snoring so I can actually sleep for once please. If he goes to sleep first I am fucked essentially. I’m so fed up I’m exhausted. He’s so loud it’s concerning but the doctor just keeps saying take antihistamines 😭😭😭 yeah we’ve tried them dumb nose strips and all that stuff. Im also pregnant so the exhaustion is just hitting extra hard, I can’t cope with my toddler on one hour of sleep again after he’s left for work😭

When it comes to our late afternoon and evening feeds, we seem to hit the same problem; he just won’t unlatch! Baby boy is 5 weeks and will just chew on my nipple, I assume to soothe, and if I ever try to take him off he screams. He’ll even be falling asleep and still hates it, and then won’t sleep at all!
Any one experienced something similar and know how to work around this? I’m sore and need a small bit of my evenings back!

Can anyone share how you sleep trained your babies without letting them cry it out? My LO is currently almost 5 months but absolutely refuses to fall asleep on his crib on his own.

To my surprise my period came back today!😭 Little bit concerned as I’m only 8 weeks post c-section and my baby is breastfed other than 2 feeds at 8pm and 12pm. Has anyone else got their period back yet? I was expecting another good few months!
