Would you get a bus with a 3 week old?!

My mum was suggesting we go out tomorrow with the kids. Talks of getting the bus. But I feel like 3 weeks is too young? But maybe I'm wrong! I just don't want the baby getting ill. She had a stuffy nose last week and she slept so badly it was no fun for anyone! Plus she got a small temp and we had to go to hospital. She was completely fine! But want to avoid doing that again if we can 😅 but then again I do have a 3 year old who brings everything home from nursery anyway!! 🤧

If I didnt have a 3 year old I would probably avoid going out with the 3 week old if they had recently been sick.

But if you have a 3 year old and they are at somw kind of childcare settings they are already a walking germ so they will likely be the 1st person your newborn catches anything from.

I used the buses a lot as lived in London but my eldest had things like swimming lessons and beavers. Not sure what age my youngest was. Initially I’d try and get a lift off my dad but more because it was winter and dark.

You should honestly still be taking it easy. Uterine prolapse is a real thing. I’d wait a couple more weeks.

I did from a few days old. Me and my partner don’t drive and only a few people in our families drive so that’s just our life. I honestly loved getting the bus with her as a newborn tho she would sleep the whole journey guaranteed and I could put my headphones on and get some peace whilst feeling like a normal human not sat indoors. I know majority wouldn’t do that tho so if you’re not comfortable with it then that’s perfectly fine and just say that to her x

My girl is nearly 7 months old and since the day we left the hospital we have been out for walks everyday
First bus was around 6 days old ish and the first train about a 7/8 days old
I don’t drive and when my partner was working, I still had to get things done

She has always loved being out and about. Getting fresh air is good for me and her.
She has never been sick too, just make sure they are not too cold and not too hot.

I didn’t really have a choice tbh. We had hospital appointments and we don’t drive so we had to use the bus.

We did at a week old with our first because he had a hospital appointment to check his heart murmur

take the carrier so you can strap the baby to you.

Daycare perfume

Wanted to get some opinions from the general mom community since I’ve gotten mixed feedback from different people in my life.

My three month old recently started daycare as my maternity leave is ending this week. The place is overall wonderful - highly accredited, friendly staff, and teachers that really seem to genuinely care about the kids.

I’ve got no real complaints (though there was mention in the first week that I shouldn’t use duct tape for labeling bottles because it sparked in the microwave, which uh, why was the bottle in the microwave at all?? That’s like the one bottle rule I’ve seen everywhere - don’t heat up bottles in the microwave!) but my son comes home every day smelling very strongly of perfume. It’s been my understanding that strong smells are a real no-no around infants and I’ll admit that I’ve always been sensitive to perfume, but it’s overwhelming. The smell lasts on his head hours after he gets home.

I don’t want to be a curmudgeon and police what these childcare workers wear, but I feel like I should say something? My mom has worked in early childhood development all her life and is aghast that the staff is allowed to wear perfume around kids, but my husband doesn’t think I should say anything since it’s not my place. I generally agree with him and don’t want to ruin our relationship with the staff, but I can’t get over the smell on my kid every night.

What are y’all’s thoughts? Do I get over it? Say something? Help!

Boyfriend saying I’m fat and going out too much.

I’m 10 weeks postpartum and my boyfriend keeps saying when am I going to lose weight. I was a size 8 uk before pregnancy and now I’m a size 10 and only a stone heavier. Which isn’t a big jump. But he says he couldn’t be with someone that was fat. I’m breastfeeding so I need to get my calories in so I can’t go on a complete calorie deficit. Since he’s been saying it I’ve not felt like having sex as hate being naked around him now. Is this what most partners say?

Also if I go out too much in the week. He has a problem with it saying house work needs to be done. Which I do keep on top off. It’s always tidy and clean (He does have OCD). I always make sure he has tea every night. I don’t go out for long but it’s nice to socialise as my boyfriend mostly works 7 days a week. I always use my own money as well even though he says I can take from the joint account. He just feels like he’s working 7 days a week and that I shouldn’t be going out too much (which i don’t feel like I am) I’ll go out some weeks more than others. Am I in the wrong as I don’t know for sure as he is working hard?

Apart from all of that, he’s so good with our daughter and does help in the evening with her. He works hard and does tidy after himself and he rings me on his break. So he’s got a lot more pros than cons but I just wanted to know peoples opinions on it?

How much food is your six month old actually eating if you introduced solids at six months

I see a lot of posts online about baby clearing their plate and while my little one does eat he does not clear his plate. After four /five spoons he is very fussy and refuses - some days we are lucky to get 2 spoons worth .

Just wondering if this is just my baby ?

Diaper Changes?

So, while I was changing my son’s diaper, I started wondering if I don’t change him frequently enough? For starters, we use pamper swaddles, which literally holds onto to pee for EVERRR😅 I can give my son 5oz of water before bed, and he can pee through the entire night (about 10hours) and that pamper would be dragging on the floor full of pee, without a single drop sitting on him. His bum is always dry, even with the fullest diaper! With that being said, he normally gets about 5-6 diaper changes throughout the day… If we’re out for a frequent time, it can change to 4-5 but I try to keep the minimum 5… Is that too little?? He doesn’t get rashes or anything, but i guess since I don’t know the normal, Idk what to look for and ofc as a ftm, im finding random shit to freak out over😅🤦🏾‍♀️

What would u do co parent issue

So my son had an issue since last week and it went away but came back when he was with his father. His right test icle was bright red and swollen. I told him as I was out of town for work that online it said if this issue occured for more than a few days to seek medical care. He said he knew better and wanted him to be kept home from school to rest. He waited a day and then the next day decided to bring him to doctor office. The nurse prescribed medication and he told me he didn't believe the nurse. I told him several times to pls give it to our son. He is doing it but I feel like so helpless BC I am upset he didn't go right away. I am not able to pick up my son BC I am far away ATM. He also is so difficult like he believes this issue occured BC of the car seat I asked him to upgrade is too small. I can't control a co parent but what do I do when I'm totally helpless to his actions... I am glad he is following the doctor instructions but I also don't trust him. He didn't want to change my son's car seat in his car so like he can say he's giving him the meds but how do I know for sure and at what point can I say his care is negligence BC like even his mom who he lives with thought they should go to emerg yesterday. I am stuck co parenting with an idiot who clearly may endanger our child.
