Do I need to leave baby with family?

Okay so she is 1 in 3 weeks and never left her with any family. Shes only been with either me or husband. She starts nursery in January and people are saying I need to start leaving her else nursery will be a shock. Do I need to? For various reasons I just dont trust my in laws or sisters to care for her. Ive seen things i didn't like when they are with her such as I came back from loo and she was eating plant soil and they laughed, letting her play with cat toys with tiny bells which she could choke on, letting her chew on wrapping paper. did anyone not do this and their baby was fine at nursery? Thanks x

If u don’t trust leaving her with family then dont. Sounds like u don’t trust ur gut.

It will probably be an adjustment for her but that doesn’t mean you should leave her with people you don’t trust.

Errrrm NEVER leave your child with someone who you’re not 100% sure of regardless of the situation!
Nurseries have settle sessions to ease the kids in so it’s a transition. The first session you’ll prob be there too, then timings will increase with you not there.

Trust your instinct Mama, you know best. Nursery will be fine, she will adapt, how does she react being around other children?

I don’t even have grandparents to help with and my child has no problem settle at nursery 🙃

My 2 year old has never been left with anyone and recently started nursery and she went in and smiled and waved at me n settled in great. My older boy who was left with family for short periods had meltdowns when left at nursery. They are all so different but how your child settles into nursery is a totally different situation and once they realise the routine and get used to it they usually fine. Also never leave your child with someone unless you are 100 percent comfortable and ignore people that try to push it. Your child your choice

Never leave her with anyone you don't trust! Follow your mum intuition

You don’t have to leave her
My daughter only stayed with me from the tome she was born to 11 months when we started daycare
Irrespective of the situation, the first few weeks are tough but babies are very resilient
You baby will do great

Finances - how do you share these?

Curious to know what others do in terms of shared finances - mortgage, bills etc. My husband and I have always done everything 50/50 but since having our daughter and me returning to work on reduced hours, my salary has reduced and with the cost of living I'm finding it hard to save.

For context, my husband earns almost double what I do, and I'm wondering now if we should be managing shared finances in a way that's more proportionate to our earnings e.g. he puts in more as he earns more.

Is this the norm? I'm so curious as to what other couples do, but don't feel I could ask this to my friends and people I know personally as I find talking about money so uncomfortable! 😅

Who’s in the wrong?

Adults keep a firearm hidden in there dresser. Kid knows there’s a firearm in there, adults tell him to not touch it. Kid still grabs firearm. Adults scold the kid for disobeying.

WHO SCOLDS THE ADULTS???

Don’t have firearms unless you’re taking the proper precautions!!!!!!!

Fucking dumb fucks.

How do I make sure my baby is getting what she needs?

My 10month old has pretty much decided to wean herself off her bottles already for the most part. We're really just doing one in the morning before her nap and one a little bit before bedtime, other than that she prefers solid foods. How do I make sure shes getting all the nutrition she needs, enough protein, fiber, iron, etc.? Any food or recipe suggestions? Thanks!

TW: SA?? I need help

I've been really struggling because I've been remembering some things from my childhood that I had completely blocked out, regarding my dad. They're very strange memories, and I'm 100% sure they happened. No matter how I look at it, it's not appropriate behavior.
I have a very rocky and unstable relationship with him. This past year, after my baby was born, we discovered he's a drug addict, but he's always had problems with substance abuse. I don't know if I'd rather remember more and have to decide to distance myself from him (I don't know if I'm brave enough to say anything to the rest of the family) or if I should ignore these feelings. The idea of cutting him out of my life for some reason seems unthinkable to me. I don't know if I feel sorry for him? I'm having trouble processing my emotions about him.
TW: My most vivid memory is from when I was very little. It was normal in my home for my parents to walk around naked when it was hot, but I remember my dad getting out of the shower, and I stared at him and asked him what he had between his legs (I must have been 3 or 4 years old). He told me it was his penis and asked if I wanted to touch it, and I did. I remember it was hard. I don't remember what happened after that.
I'm so ashamed to even write this here. I've never told anyone, but my mom once said, laughing, that I had told a family dinner with a lot of people that I had touched my dad's penis. (this makes me feel like it probably wasn't a big deal, if my mom knew, but at the same time, she has a history of making excuses for his behavior, even when it was BAD.)
When I was a child, I was also abused by a neighbor. I also had hypersexual behaviors for someone so little, and I had problems with urinary incontinence until I was a teen. I also remember being afraid when my dad came home at night. All these things make me think that maybe more happened, and my brain blocked it out to protect me. He also slapped me when I threw tantrums; the last time he physically assaulted me I was 14. I remember being put in the shower and having ice-cold water poured over me, with my clothes on, when I was a kid. All of this was considered acceptable behavior in my house.
I don't know if I'm exaggerating or not. Thank you so much if you read everything. If someone would be so kind as to share their experience or opinion, it would help me a lot!!!

Can anyone relate? My husband seems to hate on me a lot, idk if he’s jealous or wants me to struggle or what, but it’s weird. I’ll explain below.

So if I’m unable to go to the gym for months because of me struggling with our child, he will make me feel bad for not going saying we should just cancel the membership because we’re wasting money. But then if I do end up going consistently he seems slightly jealous sometimes and will question how long I’m there for so he can complain about how he can’t get to the gym enough.

Then the first time I signed up for school he made me quit right before classes began and moved us states away for “various reasons like him missing his family” which was an issue before I signed up for school (him missing his family) but why make me quit right before school and not just move after? He claimed he couldn’t handle being away from them any longer and him and I weren’t getting a long post birth

Then the second time I told him I was planning to pursue my education online he didn’t seem happy for me.

I read a 400 page book in a few days and was so proud and then he was like oh that’s why the house hasn’t been cleaned and told me to read less and clean more.

Then if I can’t understand something he’s trying to explain to me I tell him it’s ok babe I can try to look it up on YouTube or google and he will tell me that if I can’t understand how to fix something from him trying to explain it then there’s no way I can figure it out and tells me good luck in a condescending way.

He’s literally told me before it’s ok if mothers struggle because that’s normal.

I feel like maybe he’s really insecure, but how can a man be so insecure to the point that he’s hating on the own mother of his child? I don’t understand. When ppl are bettering themselves I feel so happy for them. And I only felt a little jealous of this one girl for starting a business one time and that’s only because she was so mean to me for years, but I’ve let it go and I’m actually really happy for her now. So maybe my man slightly hates me? Idk….

He wants to me to look better without actually saying it’s not important to him if I take a shower first thing in the morning and do my makeup (so I have enough time to clean the house) but will say things as casually & passive aggressively as possible to encourage me to exercise or else couples might not want to stay with their partner who doesn’t take care of themselves.

But I feel like he prefers me struggling. He seems like he could be a narcissist and he’s definitely somewhat sexist because of his culture. But it seems like maybe he always has to be the hero or righteous, perfect person that has all of the power.
