Husband tired

My husband keeps telling me how tired he is. He will tell me he’s exhausted that he feels broken, that he’s so tired, he’s so tired he doesn’t want to take her for a pram walk in the evening (he usually does though!) etc etc. I find it very frustrating. I obviously appreciate that we can both be tired and for different reasons he obviously goes to work while I’m at home with the baby. However at the moment she’s going through the four month sleep regression, her sleep is absolutely terrible, I’m up constantly throughout the night. I’m barely sleeping most nights. He is currently sleeping in a separate room so he basically has a full night sleep with no interruptions at all and this is every night of the week. It frustrates me to hear him talk about how tired he is when I know he’s getting a full night sleep every night whilst I’m getting up every 45 minutes with our baby and then having to do a full day of care the next day….
I don’t want to mention it to him or moan because I don’t want him to feel like he can’t feel tired or express his tiredness but I feel like it’s really lacking awareness and it’s really irritating me !

Snap. Although, I do tell my husband that we're both tired and it's not a competition (as that's how it feels in our house!). I think a lot of partners just assume the person at home can't be tired because they think they can almost sit around all day? The broken nights are soo tough, I'm here in solidarity with you. My LO has only just started to sleep in her cot and not contact nap - today I got my very first 20 min 'sleep when baby sleeps' 😂
Maybe try and get in any extra sleep where you can?

Omg this is me in the last few weeks of deep trenches of sleep regression - exact same situation, except that hubby works from home & wakes up just 5 mins before his morning meetings and still says he is tired while I hear him snoring through the night in his bed with his useless nipples! Really effing annoying, but I had a chat about this and we agreed the baby will sleep with daddy on Saturday nights so I can get at least one night of satisfactory sleep (and I'll pump before)

That’s such a shame and I’m very sorry you’re going through this but you have to be honest and comms how you feel before it turns into resentment.

Honestly he needs to man the fuck up that’s a joke, why is he not helping with nights at all? I think the only sort of excuse would be if you’re breastfeeding but even so sleeping in a different room? My partner does all the nights for our almost 2 yr old (i get our may baby) sometimes only getting 3-4h of sleep total then goes to his manual labour job and then does 50/50 childcare all evening. You really need to talk to him about this, he’s well within his rights to be tired yes but that doesn’t mean he’s exempt from being an involved parent and giving you a break/chance to sleep x

Switching to formula

I will have exclusively fed my 3 month old breastmilk in 2 weeks time and I think for my mental health I want to combo feed. Does anyone have any tips on this? I currently pump 7 times within 24 hours and would like to reduce that so I can live without having to pump every 3 hours. Any tips or advice would be appreciated. Xxx

Locking toddlers bedroom door

Do you think it’s ok to lock 3.5 year olds bedroom door? She keeps coming out and waking up the whole family so struggling to function. Or is it cruel to do that?

HOW are we waking our newborns?!

I'm trying to not go longer than 3 hours inbetween breastfeeds as my baby is not back to birthweight and my boobs are feeling quite engorged.

I'm having such a hard time waking my baby up for feeds and everything I'm reading online is about newborns feeding constantly, mine feels like the opposite?

I've tried changing, stripping down, cold water on belly, ticking feet, blowing, placing on a cold changing mat, talking, moving. It's taking me around 20 minutes to wake.

Surely this isn't normal. I'm worried I won't even make it to 8 feeds today.

2 year old naps

Is it bad to leave your 2 year old in her cot till she falls asleep? She's laughing and happy but doesnt fall asleep straight away.

My mom died, feels like my kids mom did

My mom died a month ago. She was a huge part of my life, and was there for me every time I needed her without question. She died unexpectedly from a stroke, and since then I feel like I'm in a life I don't recognize.

I see no light at the end of the tunnel. I see a life without the person who loved me most. And now my kids get this shell of a person as their mom. I feel no joy, i cry and I'm angry. The kind of mom no one really cries over. Nothing like my own.

If you've been through this please tell me it gets easier. That one day you wake up not wanting to just go back to sleep.
