The transfer

Does ANYONE have ANY tips on how to transfer baby into her bassinet after each feed during the night, she’ll fall asleep as soon as she’s finished but as soon as I let go when putting her down she’s awake and crying,

From a desperate sleep deprived mum 🥲

I put my shirt from the previous day or night on the side, like drape it on the side wall

I tried everything to get my baby to sleep in his bassinet but would always make grunting noises gave it a few weeks as thought it was just trapped wind or didnt like laying flat, but still ends up waking up a lot during the night. He now sleeps in our bed, safely co-sleeping and he now sleeps through the night, no noises. Will just train him to independent sleeping when he's 4 months

I have to wait 20 mins before transferring after a feed, use a heated blanket to make the bassinet warm and slowly put her down feet, bum then head and slowly take my hands away! It's long but keeps her asleep at least 😂

Not tried it but heard of people putting heat pad in to pre warm and then removing just before baby is put down. Also like someone else said a t shirt that smells like the milk lady 🤣 x

Highly recommend rocking legs if yours has that attachment! Also if I wait till she has some kind of wriggle I put her down mid-wiggle so she doesn't feel the transfer 😅 often takes 3 or 4 attempts each time though!

Also put their bum down first then put that hand on their chest whilst slowly lowering their head. This has worked for us because previously everytime I popped him down he'd wake up now he just stirs slightly

I found it so hard to transfer so I stopped. Night time feeds are: feed, sit up right for 10 min, nappy change, dummy in mouth, swaddle, straight into cot. I usually go toilet after and once I’m back in the room he’s asleep. He’s just over 8 weeks. (This does not work if my partner does it)

I've always found perceiving is the only way. I'm too afraid to co sleep so I've never had it as an option. In my experience they transfer asleep 0-3 months then around 3/4 months they start to stir when transferring which is a completely normal age/stage development. I will feed back to sleep and transfer bum first. If they wake I let them have a few minutes if they're just having a little shout in protest, if they're actually crying I'll pick up straight away but it's usually just a little shout. I'll feed to sleep again and then transfer. I've only had to do it max 3 times for them to then sleep through until morning and after the 3/4 month age they've all slept through the night and had no issues transferring. I don't know if it is classed as sleep training but I've been consistent with it and they've been good sleepers 🤞I do appreciate when you're tired it feels a lot but I swear the perseverance is worth it in the long run x

Nursery settling in period

My LB has been settling into nursery this week and is doing amazing. Only cried once when we re-entered - can't lie I felt a bit betrayed having been on mat leave with him for 11.5 months but I digressed. Anyway for the last two three days he's been waking up 6am instead of 6.30am. Is this normal? Also they only do one nap at nursery at midday. He still has two naps as if he's awake for too long he becomes really fussy and whiny until he goes to sleep so I'm worried how they will transition him to one nap. Also, his nap is just before the time he needs to be nursery each day for settling in between 9.30/10am. Oh and for the first time ever he refused his bedtime bottle last night. Would love to hear your experiences and advice please.

Can’t cope with sleep deprivation anymore

My 9 month old basically refuses to sleep. He constantly wakes up in the night and like
Tonight I’ve been up 3 hours with him.

He’ll sleep in my bed but I don’t want him in here because then I’m just giving in and giving him what he wants. I don’t even sleep when he’s in my bed either because I’m so uncomfortable.

I don’t even know what to do anymore at this point. I’m a miserable person from the sleep deprivation and incredibly depressed but health visitors and doctors are useless 😭

Daughter diagnosed with not what I thought

My 13 year old daughter has been been having neurodivergent symptoms for years from age 9 more so, I have been fighting for a diagnosis and a assesment for her to get her the suport. I took her when she was 10 to the doctors due to what I thought was depression to get her support and they mentioned a possible high functioning autism into it. So we have fighting for a assesment for that for years. I have sacrificed everything my job, my life completly to support her, the half term meltdowns, the agression, the shutdowns and protecting as well as suppporting my younger 2 children. Days where she would kick the door down while I sit behind it until she calmed down as the explosion of her would be so huge I neeeded to protect myself and her siblings. I found out yesterday after going through right to choose assesments that she doesnt actually have autism or adhd but depression and anxiety as the report says and feedback video call. Not being selfish or rude. I have given up everything and that is hard to process and feeling broken and dont know what to do with my life as my litterallly when your daughter has been been having neurodivergent symptoms for years, fighting for a diagnosis and i have sacrificed everything my job, my life to find out she doesnt actually have autism or adhd but depression and anxiety. i have given up everything and that is hard to process and feeling brokengrieving thewhen your daughter has been been having neurodivergent symptoms for years, fighting for a diagnosis and i have sacrificed everything my job, my life to find out she doesnt actually have autism or adhd but depression and anxiety. i have given up everything and that is hard to process and feeling broken past few years of sacrifices and memories ruined for her doing it on as it feels purpose. God it hurts. Anyone know of anything I can do with all this would really help?

I need a bit of solidarity or some tips because I’m TIRED 😂🫩🥴🤪

Baby boy is 4.5 months, 5 months next week and for the past 2-3 weeks we’ve suddenly been waking up every 2 hours through the night. Sometimes he wakes because he wants feeding, other times he just wakes up crying and needs resettling. It’s not gas.

What used to work for my husband doesn’t seem to work anymore either, so most of the time I have to get up, pick him up, cuddle him and sometimes feed him to get him back down. He’ll wake up every 2 hours like clockwork and I’m honestly exhausted.

During the day he’s grand. He’s a regular short napper but he’s happy, smiley, smart and great kid, so I really don’t want to complain because I know these phases pass and I know he’s a blessing. But I am definitely sleep deprived and tired at the moment and I think I just needed to acknowledge that too 😂

Did anyone else have this around 4-5 months? Did it eventually settle on its own? Any tips for getting through it or helping them resettle without needing me every single time? Mostly just looking for solidarity from other tired mums

Ftm 31 weeks pregnant advice please 🫶🏻

I’m so excited and trying to get organised but not sure if I’m rushing. All advice welcome❤️

1. I’m having an elective c section what after care bits were actually helpful? Are the silicone patches worth it when did you start using and what brand is best? Was a peri bottle still necessary for cleaning the downstairs area or not?

2. Maternity bras. What ones would you recommend and also when did you get them I was thinking of getting them pretty soon but also not sure if they’ll fit by the time I need them or did you just size up or waited till closer to the time?

3. When did you start washing baby clothes and packing hospital bag? I pretty much have everything we need already so I could pack now I just don’t know if I should wait. Same with washing babies clothes etc I plan on washing all newborn and 0-3 months initially then bigger sizes closer to when she’ll actually need them but I still have 8 weeks how early did you start washing clothes and organising drawers etc?
