Is it normal to feel this way?

Baby is currently 4 weeks old…I love her to bits but I DREAD her wake windows, as horrible as that sounds😖
She’s rarely content or happy when she’s awake. If she’s awake she’s crying or screaming. I actually get scared for when she might wake up because she gets herself in such a state.
Has anyone else felt this way? Or am I just an awful mum lol.

Im hoping this gets better once baby is a bit older & can interact more with things/play/laugh etc

try headphones and go thru checklist. soothe them with music and holding . once asleep put down then pat until fast asleep then hold hand there until fully asleep. voila nappy baby <3

even gentle circles on the back helps. could be a gassy baby. is she colicy at all?

It is common so please dont think you’re a bad mum, definitely speak to your health visitor they can refer you to get so much support and if you can afford it then I’d recommend getting a private tongue tie assessment (health visitors and gps aren’t trained to check) and seeing an osteopath, also might seem weird but what are her poos like? x

Have you tried infacol? She might have trapped wind causing discomfort. My girls 10 months and atm she’s just screaming constantly just because she wants too and it’s so draining xx

It gets easier after week 6. I used to dread the wake windows as well… Huge change for us after week 6. We also gave her infacol before every feed

We had a very similar situation and it turned out our little girl had reflux. They feed so often at that age, so if feeding results in discomfort for them, they essentially spend most of their time being uncomfortable :( it’s definitely worth considering, and mentioning at your 6-8 week health check. It’s common but you don’t have to struggle ❤️

It can be coliec or anything like trapped wind, reflux, she's crying there's something going on. You'll have to try several things to figure it out. You got this ❤️ bouncy yoga ball was a life saver for me it calmed my baby down

You are not alone. I was anxious and dreading anytime she was due a feed or not sleeping as she screamed - even in the car seat. It does improve with time. Can a partner support you or a close by friend?

Rant about dad in playground incoming!!!!!

So me and my mum were just in the playground with my 21 month old. We made our way to a little playhouse and there was another little boy who seemed the same age, maybe a little older with his dad and older brother nearby.

I looked at the dad and he seemed so laid back he might aswell of been laid in the bushes. One earphone in, kind of looked distant.

I encourage my son into this playhouse, holding his hand. The little boy comes over and basically barges his way in and stands in the way so my son couldn’t come in. I’m obviously still encouraging him to go in and trying to chat to this little boy about how nice the playhouse is.

He swipes some leaves and sticks off a little table inside which makes my son jump so he steps back and this little boy leaves. He then follows us to the slide and he’s using his body to basically block my son. Kicking his leg so he can’t get on. The slide was massive and attached to a massive climbing frame. There was plenty of space for several kids.

It got to the point where we had to explain to this little boy that his behaviour isn’t very nice and to stop. The dad was on his phone still with an earphone in.

Now I try my hardest, even more so now I’m a mum to not judge and fully understand kids are kids and sharing, social skills ect are being learnt but I feel like those kids were in charge of their dad, not the other way around. At what point do you stop being so understanding and throat punch the dad 🤷🏽‍♀️

Obsessed with making boys rude

From the moment I gave birth to a boy I’ve been hearing comments about how he’s going to be rude and mess with all the girls and he won’t have any behavior. I don’t understand why they insist and on saying these things just because he’s a boy is this normal comment for a baby boy?
