Arm strength

My little one is 11 weeks old and still hates tummy time on the floor. She's happy as anything doing it on us or when we hold her up so her neck is doing great, howwwever because she doesnt like the floor shes not really pushing herself up / using her arms when on the floor. I keep seeing all these "by 3 months babies should be able to push up with their arms, etc" and worrying shes almost at that stage and not near doing it. Anyone else the same?😬

My girl is 12 weeks and will do tummy time but she doesn’t push up. I put her arms there and she moves them to her sides every time and flaps around like a fish - feet and head up 🤣

Same here we are 10 weeks and she will happily do on us but as soon as I try floor she just burries her head in the pillow and lays there head down šŸ™„

Same (also 11 weeks). My dude has short arms and a big head so I'm telling myself he just needs to grow into it!

My little boy is 12 weeks old and is exactly like this. He will happily do tummy time on me or his dad but as soon as we try it on the floor all hell breaks loose 😭
I went to a baby group today and all the other babies were doing tummy time so well which made me cry as I thought what am I doing so wrong😩😭

Will she do a modified wheelbarrow or a supported plank across your lap/tummy? Both can be really good for helping her build up strength in her arms without having to do tummy time flat on the floor 😊
But honestly, try not to stress about the ā€œby 3 months they shouldā€¦ā€ stuff, and definitely don’t avoid baby classes because you’re worried she’s not doing something yet. Every baby develops at their own pace and has different strengths. I have no doubt your little one will be more advanced in some areas where other babies might not be ā¤ļø

Recurring miscarriages and feeling so low

I’ve recently had a d&c, this will be my 5th miscarriage.

I’m feeling incredibly low and honestly the only reason I feel I’m here is for my toddler. He is the only thing that brings me any light at the moment.

I don’t feel that my best friend (who I’ve told about my miscarriages) is bothered in the slightest about me and feels as though I’m an effort to message or
Check in on.

I feel people don’t understand that one or two losses is upsetting as it is but 5 is really making me think how different my life is going to be compared to how I thought it would be.

My partners family haven’t bothered asking about me and my mum is supportive but just says it will happen when it does.

I get nobody can help but I feel like
I’m getting further and further into a dark hole and I don’t know what to do ā˜¹ļø

C section fear

I'm having my first child on 20/10 via c section and will be solo parenting from the start. I've been calm about everything throughout my pregnancy but over the last few days, Ive been experiencing panic attacks and have been really emotional and freaked out about the c section and about how I will cope after the birth. I don't have much of a village so I'll be recovering and taking care of my so, alone, as soon as he's born and I'm scared about the pain during recovery and how I'll actually look after my son, on my own, after having major abdominal surgery.

I guess it's mainly the fear of the unknown. Anyone else experience this? How did you deal with the anxiety and fear? Any practical advice about coping on your own, after a c section? Thank you

Movements

I’m 18+4 with my 2nd baby and like with my first I have an anterior placenta. I can’t remember off the top of my head when I first felt his movements but so far I’ve not felt baby girl. I thought I had flutters about a month ago but nothing since. Everywhere (including midwives) suggest that with a 2nd pregnancy you can feel movements sooner as you know what to look out for but for me it’s not the case. I just don’t feel anything. I had a private scan a week ago and she was happy healthy and moving around. With my first I had many trips to triage as I couldn’t feel him and I can see this being the case this time. I’m just not sure when to expect to feel anything and at what point I should raise it with somebody. Feel as if I should know this being my 2nd pregnancy šŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø

Itchy wound 1 week post c section

Did your wound become itchy at 1 week post c section?

Mine has become itchy today and sore. Is this normal? No signs of infection.

Dilation…

38 weeks and 4 days. Ended up in triage due to reduced movements today and extreme pain as in contractions just to be told they’re braxton hicks and that i am only 0.5cm dilated😭. HOW ARE THEY SO PAINFUL?! genuinely taking my breath away? I’m not gonna survive this? Is anyone else the same? I have my sweep booked for monday, and honestly just dreading it
