My 5 month old currently will not settle with anyone else if she is upset apart from me.
Backstory is I am exclusively breastfeeding but have given her many bottles which she takes absolutely fine from me. On the odd occasion she will take a bit of a bottle from my husband but only daytime and when the timing is perfect. She will scream if anyone else tries to give her a bedtime feed to the point she chokes and doesn't settle.
I also have a 2 year old but he was combination fed from the start and my supply naturally went around 9 weeks. He went through a short stage of preferring me but quickly came out of it and always settled with my mum too (his nana).
I guess I'm just looking to aee if anyone has been in a similar circumstance and has came out of it? It would be good to know if this is just a phase and that she will eventually get there.
Tips welcome too but I feel like we have tried so many different things now that have been recommended so no doubt we have done it unfortunately.
I just feel exhausted. I absolutely love breastfeeding but for 5 months I have never had proper time to myself and I feel like parenting is the only thing I do now and I'm loosing a bit of me through it all. I want to be the best mum I can be but the exhaustion and monotonous days are quite tricky at times and leave me feeling deflated.
Anyone been or in a similar situation?

I’m in a similar position in the fact that i EBF, So i get what you mean when you say you need time for yourself. My daughter has always happily sat/played with my husband during her time between feeds however the past 1-2 weeks (4.5-5 months), she gets a little unsettled if i’m not there, and the time she can happily spend away from me is shorter. I read that it could be related to the fact that they’re realising you’re not one so become more clingy, but either way just wanted to let you know you’re not alone in the feeling that your baby wants mum a lot at the moment. I try to soak it in and remember there will be a time i’ll wish that she wanted me so much but it is hard when you don’t have much time for yourself x

I’m currently in the same position. It is exhausting. I am hoping it will pass. X

Exactly the same situation here. She’s absolutely fine with husband in the daytime but once 7pm hits, she will scream unless she is with me which isn’t ideal when my preferred gym class is 7-8pm🫠 I remember it being exactly the same with my now almost 3 year old and it will pass. I can’t tell you when and I wish I knew for myself, but it does. It’s exhausting when you’re in it though.
So glad to hear I am not alone. I so desperately want to just soak it all in and enjoy it but at the same time I'm finding it hard going not getting a minute. She's teething this week too which has made things 100% harder of course but at least there's a clear reason for that. I'll keep powering on too and remember that this will pass and I will miss it one day! 🫶🏼
My little one is only just 4 months but is rolling and already pretty much grown out of his next to me crib in size! I am an anxious mum and a stickler for following safety guidelines so we are going to dismantle and rebuild his big cot in our bedroom. Obviously that's a big of a faff for just 2 months but the more I think about it the more I can't even think about him moving into his own bedroom anytime soon... It feels so wrong to me to just stick my infant in his own bedroom? 😂 But obviously I know it needs to happen at some point so I'm just curious to see when other parents did the transition whether earlier or later?

My little boy will be 10 months old when he starts nursery, he currently needs holding/cuddling to fall asleep then I can place him down in his cot to nap once’s he’s fell asleep. He won’t settle on his own it just results in him screaming crying. But I’m worried about when he starts nursery, will the staff there do the same at nap time or will he expected to self settle himself to sleep?

Why are people posting pics of blood abd mucus plugs without the sensitive content warning??? Not everyone has the stomach to see that, there's first time moms on here who don't need to see it like have some consideration for others??

My 3.5yo son is normally very loud when he's in a park, soft play, family friendly holidays. Sometimes a bit too loud and doesn't understand some kids aren't reciprocating it. But I received his nursery report today and they say he's shy and likes to play alone. So I don't get it. He does in 2 days a week. Is this normal?

My boy has his first round of vaccinations today. How did people prep for it? Some HV & docs say to give calpol 30 mins before the appointment but some say don’t….. what did you do?

My son is almost 3 months old and isn't peeing at night. He slept 5 and a half hours and barely had a wet diaper. He pees normally during the day, just worried about nights.
