My 6 week old is very sleepy (and has been since birth). She has periods of being very alert during the day, but once I put her down for the night at 7pm I struggle to wake her for longer than a 5 minute feed until 7am despite the usual methods (nappy change, wet wipe, taking off a layer). I always try to wake her to feed after 4 hours, otherwise I expect she may sleep for a very long stretch without eating. She is gaining weight but went down a bit in percentile the last two weeks (from 42% to 33%). Does anyone else have this experience and any advice? I am obviously very lucky she is a good sleeper but I am also focused on ensuring she eats enough which is challenging if she is in deep sleep for 12 hours a day!

If concerned definitely check with Doctor
My LO was the exact same for his newborn stage
Very little wake windows even though very alert during them.
He slept most of the time.
We would have to wake to feed at times or do sleep feeds.
Now is he complete opposite 🤣 always awake and fights the naps 🫣

My youngest slept through the night from 5 weeks, I didn't wake her as she fed well through the day and put on weight as she should. If you're concerned speak with your health visitor but otherwise let her dream. Mine still sleeps a lovely 12 hours now and she's coming up 5
Thank you, that’s helpful! Any advice on how to get successful dream feeds?

My girl slept theough from 3 weeks but makes up her calories through the day. If she is putting in weight fine let her sleepnthrough x

I lumped at night and gave expressed breastmilk in a bottle when mine was tiny. He was jaundiced and was told he needed more and he was just so sleepy at night. The bottles went down so much better when he was sleepy. When he got to about 3 months, I was able to stop pumping and ge went back to the boob full time
My little one is only just 4 months but is rolling and already pretty much grown out of his next to me crib in size! I am an anxious mum and a stickler for following safety guidelines so we are going to dismantle and rebuild his big cot in our bedroom. Obviously that's a big of a faff for just 2 months but the more I think about it the more I can't even think about him moving into his own bedroom anytime soon... It feels so wrong to me to just stick my infant in his own bedroom? 😂 But obviously I know it needs to happen at some point so I'm just curious to see when other parents did the transition whether earlier or later?

Moms, what actually works for getting stains out of your kids’ clothes? 😅 I’m dealing with grease marks and all the random toddler stains. What products do you swear by, and do you pretreat, soak, or just throw everything in the wash?

My little boy will be 10 months old when he starts nursery, he currently needs holding/cuddling to fall asleep then I can place him down in his cot to nap once’s he’s fell asleep. He won’t settle on his own it just results in him screaming crying. But I’m worried about when he starts nursery, will the staff there do the same at nap time or will he expected to self settle himself to sleep?

Why are people posting pics of blood abd mucus plugs without the sensitive content warning??? Not everyone has the stomach to see that, there's first time moms on here who don't need to see it like have some consideration for others??
