SAHM + Blue collar husband = solo parenting most of the day

Anyone else have a blue collar husband and tends to be solo parenting, on survival mode while they work long hours ? It gets lonely here and could use some relatable connections! 🫶🏻

I don’t have a blue collar husband atm although I tend to date blue collar men😅 and have been a single parent since the birth of my daughter. 90% of her life, it’s just been me and her🥹🩷

Me. Definitely dealing with the long lonely hours each week!

I can sort of relate. My husband is in the Army so it isn't quite the same but here I'm home alone with the kids. My solo parenting days are crazy random and often a complete surprise. I just put the kids to bed by myself tonight. I don't even know when my husband will be home. I even got all the dishes washed by myself.

My fiancee works 12 hour days so I can relate!

Oh yes! Leaves before the sun is up and gets home around 8pm. But then he’s not really home cuz before anything he needs to shower (any usually poop). Then he’s so tired from the day he normally doesn’t wanna take her so get a break at least not right away. She’s in the phase where if anyone but me has her she will scream until I come back. So he will normally make me a simple dinner (some days it’s just a Mr noodle) and take her and try his best to keep her calm while I eat a HOT meal. If I need a shower he will pull out all the tricks in the book to keep her entertained while I shower. By then it’s pretty much time for bed and I try not to wake him in the night so the next ~20-22h I’m back to being a solo parent. So I 100% get it

My husband’s not blue collar but he is up at 4am and home at 6pm. It’s rough. I just want to poop without feeling rushed or without little eyes watching me.

My man is an amazing father! But, its definitely so hard when you cant wait for them to get home all day and then when they do, your shift still isnt over 🥲 Everything is so much easier on his off days

Looking for my girly group

okay where is my girly group because i know you’re hiding somewhere 😭

i’m looking for a little group of girls around brisbane who actually want genuine friendships — coffee/matcha dates, brunch, cute little outings, shopping, walks, dinners, playdates if you have kids, sending each other stupid reels and eventually getting to the point where we can just show up at each other’s houses looking feral 😂

i’m a mum of two but you definitely don’t have to be a mum. i’d actually love a mix of girls where our entire friendship doesn’t revolve around being parents.

i’m into beauty, skincare, books, reality tv, spirituality/psychic stuff, cute outfits, y2k everything and having conversations that somehow go from completely unserious to deep life shit within five minutes.

i’m not looking for the “we should totally catch up!!” and then never speak again type of friendship 😭 i want my actual girls. group chat, spontaneous plans, checking in on each other, celebrating birthdays, the whole thing.

bonus points if you’re a little introverted, a little unhinged and also wondering how adults are supposed to make proper friends 😂

where are youuuu 🤎

Where you at?

Why is making friends in your 40’s so hard?! I’m 45, SAHM and have 3 kids with a big age gap. Looking for a texting bestie that actually responds. Let’s chat, send each other memes and support each other. Don’t care where you live! Honesty, non-judgmental and a sense of humor is a must. Let’s talk
about our kids but also ourselves and anything else because let’s be real, it’s all about the kids 🤣 I love plants, reading, true crime and crafting. Throw some iced coffee in there and my new bestie and I’m a happy girl!

Looking for mama friends 🧡

I’d love to find some mums who can relate to this 🤍

I’ve been feeling a little extra alone lately, and I’ve realised how much I miss having that “someone checking in on you” kind of support.

I lost my mum when I was little, and my dad isn’t present in my life. I also have a pretty complicated/dysfunctional family situation, so I don’t really have that parent or family network that a lot of people naturally have around them.

I’m a mum myself now, and sometimes it hits me that there isn’t really anyone who’s going to randomly call and ask, “Are you okay? How are you coping with the kids?” — and I think I’m craving that kind of mutual support and friendship.

I’m not looking for sympathy at all. I’d actually love to hear from other mums who have a similar experience — whether you’ve lost a parent, are estranged from family, have an absent parent, or just don’t have much of a family support system.

It would be so lovely to make some friendships where we can check in on each other, have a chat when things feel hard, celebrate the good stuff together, and just know there’s someone who gets it. 🥹🤍

If this sounds like you too, please message me. I’d genuinely love to connect.
