Started the ferber method tonight. Picked him up on the second attempt. But I waited 3,5,10 minutes and now I'm waiting 15 min to check on him again but I can't hear any crying from downstairs. We cosleep so this is also his first night in his crib, which is also in our bedroom, so we're gonna have to be so quiet. I'm excited to have my bed back! He usually nurses to sleep so this is definitely a very big change.

You got this! It’s so hard transitioning them!

You got it!! We did the Ferber method three months ago and it’s been a life saver. Beware though that day 5-7 can be the hardest but stick to it. I mix some of his old routine with the sleep training and I think that helps the transition. So I would sing to him and rock him until he fell asleep before, now I play those same bedtime songs as he’s getting on pajamas and getting in his sleep suit (highly recommend the magic merlin sleep suit if your baby loves to be swaddled). Mix some of your old routine to help signal “it’s bed time” you got this!! Feel free to message me if you want anymore tips and tricks
My partner does his own washing (great!) and I do mine and our toddler’s.
Sometimes I put toddler’s clothes straight in the washing machine if they are ditched, with a view that I’ll do a load later.
But this morning, my partner needed to do a load of washing and instead of washing our toddler’s clothes with his (toddler had a vest, jumper, and a top), my partner took our toddler’s clothes out, put them on the side, so he could wash his own clothes???
Why not just chuck our toddler’s clothes in with his?
This has happened twice now and he’s never washed our toddlers clothes

My period still hasn’t returned an my baby turned one last month! I kinda thought it would have returned by now.. a couple weeks ago I got symptoms that had me thinking I may be ovulating but still no period. Even took a pregnancy test today just to make sure. Anyways, if you did get yours was it after you cut down on breastfeeding sessions or eliminated overnight feeds? My baby has only ever fed at breast never taken a bottle but he took right to solids at 6 months and now eats lots. He maybe breast feeds once or twice throughout the day but still wakes overnight a few times and I nurse him back to sleep.

Just want peoples opinions. So today I was in a children’s charity shop with my 6 month old and she was asleep in her pushchair. A boy who looked maybe 8-10 years old came over to us and patted her gently over her blanket. I was a bit taken back and then he went away and came back 10 mins later and asked me “what did I just do to your baby?” And I replied “you stroked her” then I asked him if he was with his mum or dad and he said no he’s with his tutor. I could see the man on the other aisle. I felt uncomfortable and just walked away with my pushchair. She stayed asleep the whole time. Am I being really silly in feeling scared at the time? Maybe it’s my anxiety after my baby was born as she nearly died or maybe it’s just normal that I was scared? I feel bad as I don’t know if he was special needs? It seemed like it but I just felt strange about it all

Any advice/tips on weeing after birth? I had my baby girl yesterday and I’ve got a second degree tear, very close to third degree. I’m in so much pain with going to the toilet. I’ve got a peri bottle and spritz for bits for after but has anyone got any other recommendations that helps the stinging? I’m drinking lots of water to make sure my urine isn’t concentrated too
