Hi hi!
FTM to a 2 week old boy. My husband has been amazing and he still has a few weeks off work but I’m so stressed about how I’m going to handle my baby and dog (who is quite chill tbh) on my own when he goes back.
Any tips and tricks are much appreciated! 🩵

I second this! Also FTM and dog mom of two and dreading my husband going back to work next week. Is it normal to get so annoyed by the dogs now? I feel horrible, I love them but lately I have no patience for them which I hate. I feel you!

Oh I remember this feeling all too well ❤️ I felt it so strongly with my first and then again when I had my second. The best advice I can give is to go into it with very low expectations. You're main job is to make sure baby is fed and has a clean nappy and responds to their cries. Everything else can wait. Take it easy if that feels like what you want to do.
With my first I didn't leave the house, I took everything hour by hour. With my second I did the opposite and was out the house as much as possible. It's whatever feels natural to you.
I know everybody says this but you soon find your feet. You naturally fall into a groove of getting things done by yourself. Honestly you will surprise yourself by how much you can do by yourself ❤️
I found that by the end of the first week I felt confident and fell into my new normal and it was much easier.
You've got this mumma!

My mom came to help when my baby turned 1 month. My husband went back to work. When my baby turned 4 months, she left and I was like: how am I going to do this?
Well.. I pulled through .. instinct just guess.
One thing I'd suggest is, if you can, while you guys take turns helping with the baby, the other can meal prep and freeze a bunch of food. Thats the most helpful part I think.
So unfortunately I was helping my mother in law with her phone. I saw messages between her and my husband talking shit on me. What would you do? Most he instigated but she contributed a good amount...

Curious on opinions and what others are doing. LB is 2.5, we have always loosely rescricted screen time but do rely on it sometimes. I try to stay under the 1 hour a day reccomendation but often it just a little over. For context he is low sleep needs so only sleeps 10.5hrs overnight with no nap, i am 34 weeks pregnant and solo parenting during the week with an elderly dog too. I work 3 days a week so he goes to nursery whilst i am at work. He does loads of enriching activities and we read tons of books etc. Today I had an important phonecall i had to take that took an hour so i put the TV on but the call was late
starting and then a few other things demanded my attention so he ended up watching 2 hours of TV. I feel like an awful mum but on the other hand I'm thinking but today he also : had a swimming lesson with me in the pool, had lunch in the cafe together, played in the park together, cleaned the kitchen cupboards (he asked to fo this) played in the garden (digging in the mud and riding his bike). We'll be going to do the food shop together next and after dinner will be playing together then bathtime and stories. On other days we do painting and colouring and baking and puzzles, the only time the TV is on all day is when one or both of us are poorly. Is this sort of balance really so bad for him??

I take care of our little one, does whatever required of me in terms of running the household, I work two long shift, have not had my hair washed in months, i am coming down with the flu and I look tired. Each time I am not energetic he goes I have to look at your face which is moodiness.. oh let me guess your tired (tease me and laugh). When we argue he come for my weight, mind you am breastfeeding and I have PCOS plus he is not skinny either.
I have to take this until I finish my training because I have nobody to watch take my daughter to nursery and pick her up. Stay with her until am back in the night. This is probably it for the next 18 months atleast...

My baby is 4 and a half months and is on the 15th centile. She has 2 8oz bottles a day and drains them, the rest of the day breastfed. The HV has advised I up to 9oz and if her centile doesnt increase and she drains 9oz, we may need to see GP to see about early weaning. Has anyone else done this? What food/purees did you start with?

Does anyone else have issues with their mother-in-law?
I do. A lot of issues. Long story short (actually kinda long lol) this woman told me, while I was in active labor (with complications), I must have a lower pain tolerance than her. She told me her contractions were in the 200s and mine were very low. They should’ve been way higher. They were in the 60s-70s, and I looked it up. They were normal numbers and the machine maxes out at 100. She had kids over 20 years ago.
She stayed at my house without ever asking or telling me. She just assumed she could stay there while I was in labor. I am very guarded when it comes to my home. Even if you are family, I like to be home if you are there. She then over welcomed her stay. She basically wiggled her way so she could spend the night with me in the hospital instead of my own mom or sister. I felt guilted and rushed into it because “she’ll never get to see the baby”.
She insisted she should be my lactation consultant and saw my boobs. She never even tried to give me privacy, so I could latch my baby. She pretty much turned away all the lactation consultants that came by because she knew what she was doing.
She asked me when I would feel ready to be left alone with the baby. I had a total of 5 minutes of alone time with my baby. I had a very hard time bonding to her because of it. I wanted to be left alone with my baby. I told her she could go home that day we came home from the hospital and she stayed with us for another three days. Not one time did she leave the house to give my family alone time or privacy. Nothing. Never even offered.
She calls her son “baby” around me and instead of just referring the grandbaby as “my grandbaby” she calls her “our baby” inserting herself as per usual.
The day she did leave, she gave me unsolicited relationship advice which is funny considering her husband sleeps around on her and they don’t even live together. She only wears her wedding ring when it benefits her. She pretends her relationship is good instead of just facing the fact it was over several years ago when she actually left him.
I put in the effort to send pictures and to let her see my baby, but she stopped putting in effort months ago. Now it’s my fault. She claims I quit trying. I never did. We moved further away as she insisted we moved into the rental home because I needed to create a stable like for my child (it was already stable).
Now my hubby is frustrated with me and saying I’m acting like a child just like his mom. I don’t see what’s wrong in wanting an apology from her before I’ll give anymore effort. I’m tired of being the one nice to this woman who has never respected me. Not to mention I’m already having to be nice to his sister who referred to unborn child at the time, inbred, and pretty much cyberbullied me for a little bit. She also has been a terrible aunt and now all of the sudden she wants to be in the picture but more like low-effort. She doesn’t ever make a point either. And no I never got an apology from her either.
I’m just mad. I have postpartum rage and I just want to go off on them so bad. My husband is just not understanding that. To him I’m still being petty and using our child as leverage. To me, I’m tired of being the better person when it doesn’t change the results. I never get anything back from them, so why bother. I’m not going out of my way to be disrespectful to them like they were to me. I’m simply being firm with my boundaries. Can anyone else relate?

Can anyone tell me how to track my daughters phone so I can see her whereabouts when she is at school and on her way home etc.
