Baby monitors

I’m really struggling to decide on the best monitor to buy. I would ideally love one that detects movement/ rolling over on front. But at this point I’m just looking for recommendations as it’s super stressing me out 🙈😭

We have a LeapFrog monitor and I cannot fault it at all.

I have an angel care it is amazing for the sensor! And not too stressful either, so my one doesn’t detect roll overs but I did have an incident where I have to admit baby was very very cold and a bit sloppy and it woke me up in less than a second! Bubba was fine but it was very good in that moment! Gets on my tits when I take him out the bed in the morning and forget to turn it off but I know it works 😂😂

I have a vtech and the delay is several seconds which can be annoying but it does the job

Why do you need one that detects rolling?

We have the Nanit, it’s great but overall very pricey. There is a subscription which you can get to track memories and stuff (we got this free for the first year then cancelled), but the unpaid version sends you notifications for movement and crying. I generally just have my sound on all the time anyway. The downside is you’re reliant on your phone to view the monitor which if you have someone caring for you baby, you’re abit screwed, so we ended up buying a second hand iPad for it which was a added cost. With our second baby we’ve just used a cheap vtech monitor and tbh I’d rather that - it does the job, and is more versatile as can be used everywhere with no WiFi needed x

Waking baby for feeds (EBF)

Hello, my baby is 4 weeks old and EBF.

I woke up last night and realised baby was still asleep after 4 hours. Should I be waking him to feed/nappy change, or do I count my blessings and wait for him to wake me up when he’s ready?

He’s way past his birth weight now, so not concerned about that, but obviously he still has a tiny tummy and I was concerned he was likely sleeping in a soiled nappy.

I very much doubt this will be a regular occurrence but would like to know what to do for next time. Last night we chose to wake him up 🤔

Moving off formula at 12 months

Can anyone offer advice of how to move from formula to cows milk at 12 months please?
Do you have to wean them over to the cows milk? If so, when, as the guidance is only formula until 12 months and cows milk only in food until that point.
Or do you just give cows milk one day and never give formula again?
Finding it a bit of a mine field! What if she won’t drink the cows milk!

Cot or bed

So long story short, my husband has accidentally broke our daughters cot. She is about to be 14 months and I’m wondering, do I buy a whole new cot or do I get a floor bed? I’ve been thinking about a floor bed for awhile but it says online that a cot is still recommended before 18 months but I’m just not sure what to get and I don’t want to waste money getting a cot she’s only going to be in for 4 more months etc - any advice is appreciated - thank you
