Ailments

I am 38+2 today.
Went for a growth scan and baby has put on a nice 1lb since 2 weeks ago...
Sonographer said baby is ready to arrive any day now. I'm getting so impatient...LOL.
Now, today I have started having really bad wisdom tooth pain and also have gained a coldsore (even though I'm on meds to prevent the herpes virus)...

My back hurts, unable to get comfortable and been feeling extremely sick all day.

Do you think this is my body's way of saying we're getting ready?

I am planning on a natural vaginal birth with no intervention and at the local midwife centre with a pool. I have been told I can still do this!

I am totally ready now!

No way of telling sorry. The whole 3rd trimester symptoms are literally the body getting ready for labour. Meaning labout could come in days or weeks! 😄 annoyingly

If I could give a bit of advice, my midwifes started telling me baby could come any day from 37. By the time I was at 40 weeks I was already mentally exhausted because I had been counting the days and the symtoms and hoping to go into labour every time I felt something. Technically baby can come out even at 42 and it would still be absolutely normal, in some countries they count 42 as term! I think this is the way they exhaust you so you then agree for a sweep, or an induction or a cesarean, so they speed you along and schedule you to give birth sooner.

I really hope you will go into labour soon and spontaneously, but please prepare yourself with 42 weeks in mind, otherwise you will lose your mind every day that you are still pregnant. I've been there and done that ❤️🙏

Failed 2 hour test - doctor has said nothing

I definitely failed my 2 hour glucose test on Tuesday this week, with numbers out of range on both my fasting and 1 hour blood draw. I may be rushing my doctor, but I messaged and called because I am going overseas in less than a week and need to know if I need to, say pick up supplies or be medicated. Is it normal for no one to reach out after a failed glucose test, or respond at all?

Blood pressure

Hi everyone. I had my 28 week appt today, my bp was 126/76, midwife wasn’t concerned but I searched it and says it’s slightly elevated 😭

Witching Hours - There Is Hope!!

Just a positive post to say that there is light at the end of the tunnel for those of you with babies going through the witching hours! My baby boy is now almost 8 weeks old, from around 3 weeks he was inconsolable for a couple of hours anywhere between 5pm and 9pm, but the past three nights has been so much better!

It is a haaaaarrrrdddd phase though! If you are going through it, what helped me was holding him securely while bouncing on my birthing ball and singing slowed down versions of my fave pop songs (twinkle twinkle got old v fast!) and then tapping in and out with my husband when it got too much.

Hoping I've not jinxed it with this post 😅
