Blood pressure

Hi everyone. I had my 28 week appt today, my bp was 126/76, midwife wasn’t concerned but I searched it and says it’s slightly elevated 😭

Honestly if they aren’t worried don’t be worried. They only got worried about mine when the systolic was over 140 and the diastolic was over 90.

When I say worried they gave me medication when it reached 150s.

If you was walking before the appt or talking that can raise it to. X

That’s not a high blood pressure - it’s not high unless it’s over 140/90.
Stop googling! You’ll just stress yourself out xx

My blood pressure is rarely over 95 since being pregnant, id love a 126 🤣
But if theyre not concerned, then you dont be concerned. Especially like you said you were anxious about injections.. but a "perfect/ideal" blood pressure is 120/80 so youre pretty bob on (all though in my last pregnancy they only checked my bp when in labour so i dont actually no what a rypical pregnant bp would be, just what we like on the ward ) 🖤

That's normal.

Something that stuck with me during my pregnancy was what a private midwife told me, that “normal blood pressure” is within a 20 range of your booking blood pressure, which would be what ur original blood pressure was during your first midwife appointment. Mines was 107/68 so anything over 127 for me would be raised blood pressure. I could see with every midwife appointment it kept getting higher and higher but I got fobbed off for weeks as it wasn’t over 140/90 but was high for me. By 37 weeks I ended up on a triple dose of meds, multiple hospital trips with a blood pressure over 140 (after meds) and unable to have a birth I wanted as it wasn’t monitored as early as it could be. You will know if something is not right and listen to your gut. ❤️

Failed 2 hour test - doctor has said nothing

I definitely failed my 2 hour glucose test on Tuesday this week, with numbers out of range on both my fasting and 1 hour blood draw. I may be rushing my doctor, but I messaged and called because I am going overseas in less than a week and need to know if I need to, say pick up supplies or be medicated. Is it normal for no one to reach out after a failed glucose test, or respond at all?

Witching Hours - There Is Hope!!

Just a positive post to say that there is light at the end of the tunnel for those of you with babies going through the witching hours! My baby boy is now almost 8 weeks old, from around 3 weeks he was inconsolable for a couple of hours anywhere between 5pm and 9pm, but the past three nights has been so much better!

It is a haaaaarrrrdddd phase though! If you are going through it, what helped me was holding him securely while bouncing on my birthing ball and singing slowed down versions of my fave pop songs (twinkle twinkle got old v fast!) and then tapping in and out with my husband when it got too much.

Hoping I've not jinxed it with this post 😅
