Baby refusing calpol

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get a 10 month old to take calpol ?

My baby has had gastroenteritis and throwing up for the last two weeks . Shes crying constantly, waking up through the night crying and obviously uncomfortable .

When ever I try to give her calpol she says no , spits it out or throws it all back up again . Any recommendations for alternatives she might take ?

Thanks

Have you tried letting her suck it through the teat try doing it before a bottle then give the bottle straight after x

I put it in my sons favourite fruity puree. He loves it. Hope this helps!

When my son did this I got a mini yoghurt and would put it on the spoon with the yoghurt and he’d devour every bit of it x

I always use a feeding spoon instead of the syringe and very tiny amounts at a time and leave a bit of time in between each spoon to try and let at least some of it get into their system.

If they can keep any food down though there's also baby ibuprofen . Hope they are better very soon x

Does she use a dummy? Frida do medicine dummies. Or into the teet of a bottle of she doesn't take it.

My son also refuses the sugar free one but will guzzle the sugar one up, I know sugar isn't ideal but worth a try for the greater good!

Sounds horrid, but syringe right to the back of the gums and do it ml by ml, theyll swallow with it that far back and would struggle to move it forward im their mouths to spit out x

It takes 2 of us to give him calpol. Oddly he’ll have strawberry nurofen fine but screams with calpol. I use the syringe in his cheek and blow on his face slightly to get him to swallow x

I put it in the yogurt which he loves and he had it all!

Sounds strange if you do short gentle blows each time you syringe some in, it causes a reflex for them to swallow. Like others are saying, do small amounts.
Otherwise, if it’s affecting her recovery, speak to gp/pharmacy for paracetamol suppository

I specifically mentioned in my post this is a no judgement group chat & this is the first thing she does be careful because me and my friend were once in a group chat with her a while back and she talked so dirty to us because we gave our babies purees said "your doctors know nothing " "your baby is gonna have issues " and "yall are dumb" that "i trust online research not my doctors " just beware!!!

Ms Ratchel

Okay moms. I’m feeling super guilty. I let my 10 month old watch ms Ratchel, it’s not an every day thing but I run out of ideas to play with him. He refuses to crawl, hates tummy time and has no interest in wanting to try. Any other moms currently going through this?

7 month old poop

My 7 month old pooped normally this morning. He ate avocado and banana mixed with my breastmilk and then pooped (image shown) 30 min later. Does this look concerning? He’s exclusively breastfed and acting normal.

Passport

Hello,

I applied for my baby’s first passport on the 10th of August and sent the dad’s passport and the full birth certificate as the dad is the one who is British. On the tracking, I can see that the documents were received on the 18th of August and up till this very moment, it’s not moved from that. We did the standard processing time and it’s about 5wks+ now since documents were received. Unsure why it’s taking this long and if anyone has similar experience or advice. My baby’s dad has an emergency where he needs to travel internationally and he’s thinking we should request his passport back and let the application continue. Don’t think that’s wise but it’s been way too long and it’s super important that he travels by next week.

We called the passport office and they advise to continue waiting without any much info. They said if we need the dad’s passport that we’ll have to send an email to request for it and also mentioned the application will still continue. I don’t know how true this is. We plan to call them on Monday and then send the email to request just the dad’s passport back. I don’t know if we can ask them to upgrade the application and pay for a faster processing at this point as it’s way past the 3wks normal standard processing time.
Really disturbed by this. I’ll appreciate any advice or guidance on this.

Sleep help

Hi mamas!
A sleep question..
My little one (13 weeks) tends to go to sleep around 8pm (give or take) after bath, bottle, bed routine. He quite consistently has a good 4-5 hour stretch initially before waking up for a feed around 1-2am. Once he’s fed and settled back in his next to me crib, the rest of the night is very bitty up until he wakes at about 7am. He’ll go down for an hour or so at a time but finds it tricky to stay asleep for longer than that. VERY thankful for the initial stretch but hoping we can maybe nail down a second longer stretch somehow. Any tips or tricks? Thanks in advance!
