My little boy will be 2 in November and he has been a fussy eater for pretty much a year. Comfort foods are any type of pasta/ mash potato (soft foods) Will not eat meat no matter how I serve/cook. He will only eat it if I’ve blended it in with a sauce… he’s really sceptical about trying new things and refuses before he’s even put it in his mouth. Each week I will put a safe food along side something I’m having to encourage him to try new things but we are not getting anywhere and have been trying this for a while. Im honestly stuck on new foods/ dinners to make that he may like. Seems to me it’s a texture thing. Anyone else had any experiences like this? He also has to have lactose free meals as high amounts of dairy can cause him to have a major flair up with eczema😢

Do you spend a lot of time trying to convince him to eat or try new things? Sometimes food becomes a battleground if you find yourself inadvertently giving it a lot of attention. If you're negotiating a lot, kids feel that as pressure.
If there are digestive issues (like the lactose), he could be experiencing some discomfort which may also be putting him off. Has he been checked for possible medical or significant feeding / sensory issues? Some sensory aversion is normal for toddlers, but if it's significant, that's when they might need intervention.

I used to try to convince him but now I don’t push it and if he doesn’t try it it’s fine and if he does try something I’ll applause him. We haven’t gone down the route of professional yet but it’s something I want to explore. It’s been very much swings and round abouts. One minute he’s getting better the next it’s going 360 and I can’t figure out why. Thank you for your comment ❤️

My little boy is 3 and is still fussy which I find so hard as we are a foodie family! He has certain foods he loves but will often refuse to even try new things and it’s so frustrating as I’m paranoid he’s not getting enough fruit / veg etc. I just keep try to offer him new foods and I’ve come to the point now where I’m saying ‘that’s all there is for lunch / dinner etc, if you don’t eat it there’s only yoghurt / fruit before bed time’ and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Frustratingly, he clears his plate when he eats at the childminders, sometimes food I offer him and he refuses she says he eats the lot, so I do wonder if he just pays up to me and his dad when he’s at home! My partner was great whilst on paternity. We were lucky and he was able to take 5 weeks off which was a huge help to me recovering from a csection and being a first time mum. However now it feels like im doing everything. He works shift work and is currently on an 8 day stretch with a variety of shift times. I get it, work is tiring but so is looking after a baby with very little sleep. He'll make me lunch before he goes to work or offers to let me go back to bed but by that point im too awake to sleep enough before baby will need fed again. I want him to help more but idk what he can do to help. I breastfeed and am cosleeping with baby so most nights hes through in the spare room.

Had my baby early by 1 month so didn't have time to do my full nesting which I was very much n looking forward to. On the day i came home after 4 days in hospital i was cleaning. I hoovered, washed our clothes and put washing on. Thew a lot of things away ect. No n problem and baby is 8 days old now ive been to the supermarket for a food shop, and taken my toddler to a play group at the library. Its this to much? Vaginal birth no complications. Done this with my husband in tow so he is helping a bit lool.
When people see me out everyone is saying omg well done or you should be resting but 1- really tricky with a toddler and 2 I need to get this done! Mentally I'm very active i like being out, I like being in the sun and we have beautiful October weather at the moment so want to enjoy it while it remains BUT am I pushing it too much? I dont know whats too much and also want my husband to step up if needs be and he will if i ask but dont know what i should actually expect from him. He asked me why is eveeyone saying well done and you should rest you haven't complained about anything and its true I haven't.. I guess im asking what was your expectations of your husband post birth? What did he naturally do and what did you ask him to do.

Very long story short I have an autistic toddler he can bathe himself cook his own food even though I don’t just teach him and do it with him help me wash clothes walk beside me and don’t run off etc. but he talks and says word and know some reading but asking him a question and getting a response no. So we have an Aba in home I am open and I offer assistance and willing to buy and do whatever is needed. She only been here 3 days and I keep my house very clean I mean spotless she will some how get slime in my carpet walking through patio shades allowing my kid to jump on the table I go in to reinforce and she just sits there no help nothing. I catch her just staring at him sometimes she play chase and tag but idk it feels off. Is this normal? Do they just stand and watch oh and she has no car so we can’t go to the park or anything to build his social skills like it feels like o can do this myself
