Vaccinations?

Just wondered if anyone could advise If I would need to book in to get my vaccinations or if this is something I'd get an appointment sent to me for also am I good to just go to the pharmacy to get the flu jab? I've been asked if I want the vaccines but not given any other info since my first midwife appointment.

You can contact the GP for them or call your maternity unit where you attend scans and ask them if they do a drop in session x

My GP invited me for a flu jab due to being pregnant. I had a scan yesterday, and the midwife asked if I wanted whooping cough/rsv and because I said yes, she has added it to the appointment booking to be done with my next scan, and the rsv to be done with scan at the time its due xx

Seems everywhere is different. Just ask the midwife next time you’re seen if you are before 18 weeks. I got my flu jab sorted myself at the supermarket pharmacy. My GP did whooping cough after I asked but my hospital also does the vaccinations at the antenatal clinic.

My GP offered my flu jab before I had my first midwife appointment so I had that then and then my midwife offered the vaccines at the appointment before they were due and did them at the following appointment
Sometimes we have a vaccination clinic in the hospital when you go for a scan
Probably best checking with your midwife if you need to arrange yourself or not 😊

I had to ring my GP to book in to get the RSV vaccine. The whooping cough I had at the hospital when I went for a scan as the timings worked

Best to book flu vaccination via NHS app as for pregnancy we are priority. I got mine in Sep and simply booked it that way and went to the pharmacy that I chose. Hospital offered the whooping cough one on the same day of my 20 week scan which I did so. And the RSV has a slightly later timeline

Hi all, I'm feeling a bit under thr weather mild temperature and a little shivery, my baby is exclusively breast fed. We tried an expressed bottle literally 2 days ago which he took slowly. I only have about 1L of expressed milk in the freezer any top tips for managing the situation?

Struggling here

I’m struggling as a ftm. My parter did a Jekyll and Hyde on me once my baby was born.
Before we enjoyed each other and didn’t have issues. We both worked hectic jobs and supported each other.
Baby came early via c section and less than 24 hours after my spouse left me at the hospital and invited his mom against my wishes to take his place because he claimed to be sick. He went home and slept.

He also didn’t do overnights and took 8 weeks off work and spent them arguing with me and sleeping. He told me it wasn’t fair to expect him to get up at night and refused to make me nutritious food when I asked. He brought me things like pop tarts and I was breastfeeding our child.

He tried to initiate intimacy 2x in the first 6 weeks and when I rejected him he groped me and tried to force my hand to touch him.
He mocked me twice
He told me I was stuck and if I left he’d lie to the courts and I’d never see my baby again.

Everything has been a fight. He admitted to lying during an argument about my character to avoid the conversation about how he hurt me.

There’s plenty more but I can’t list it all as it’s been going on over 5 months.

Have you had these experiences? I have no idea what to do

Has anyone else really struggled with their marriage since having a baby? ❤️

For context - my husband and I have been trying for a baby for 2 years and had 4 miscarriages before we finally got our rainbow baby a few months ago.

Since having our baby, my husband and I seem to be stuck in a cycle of arguing over things that escalate into much bigger issues than they need to. I'll feel hurt, try to explain why, he'll feel like I'm blaming him and get defensive, then I'll feel unheard and get more upset. Afterwards I end up overthinking everything and wondering how we can stop repeating the same pattern.

I've been making a real effort to work on my own mental health and make positive changes, both for myself and for our relationship. I think what's hurting me most is that I don't feel like my husband is putting the same effort into his own wellbeing. He says he wants us to stop arguing, and he does make thoughtful gestures for me, which I appreciate. But I want to feel like he's also choosing to make changes because he wants to feel better and improve our relationship too. I don't want to have to tell him exactly what to do, because then I feel like I'm still responsible for making everything happen.

His work involves shifts, so I'm alone with the baby a lot and spend far too much time in my own head thinking about our relationship. I feel like I'm constantly trying to figure out how we can get better, whereas he seems much more able to focus on the good parts of our life. Sometimes it hurts that he doesn't seem as affected by how we're doing as I am.

I'm exhausted by how much I'm thinking about it all. Every time we argue, it feels like we're no closer to getting better, and I'm finding it hard to picture us getting past this. I love him and want our marriage to work, but I feel like I'm carrying so much of the emotional effort and I don't know what else to do.

Has anyone else felt like this after having a baby? How did you stop the same arguments happening over and over? How did you stop overthinking your relationship? And if you've been through a period where things felt really difficult and you couldn't see a way forward, what actually helped you get through it?

I could really do with hearing from people who've been there and come out the other side. ❤️
