Dummy - do I don’t I?!?!

Help - my 4 week old has hit an episode every night now without fail that she is waking up every hour/2 for a feed which I think is ok for this age? But she is such a struggle to get back down to sleep and just makes constant squeals moans for about an extra hour before she is in proper sleep - would a dummy help her settle ? Can we introduce only at night?!

We use one and it helps but she will spit it out when she wants milk. We introduced it at around 2w and did the same with our son. We use the bibs round one made of natural rubber and it hasn’t interfered with breastfeeding:)

It’s a tough one. I did with my first, didn’t with my second and so far haven’t with my third. If you need it to then it may really help.
I felt that I really hated when they spit it out and aren’t at the stage of finding it by themselves and then taking it away 🙈
My son still woke just as much as my daughter though!

We were really reluctant but have found it’s helped so much for exactly the situation you’re having! He tends to settle with it as long as we catch him before he’s full on screaming, then spits it out but doesn’t seem bothered and continues to sleep. No interference with breastfeeding and doesn’t seem to be too attached to the dummy or cry for it

Active sleeper

Has anyone else got experience of this...my 4.5 month old baby is extremely active during his "light sleep" phases. He sleeps like a log for an hour/hour and half or so after putting him down and then he starts to flail about, I'm assuming as he goes into a light sleep phase. He's asleep whilst he doing this (legs and arms flapping about, rubbing his face etc) but if he's left on his own he will wake himself up, so I have to pick him up and rock him until he goes back into a deep sleep again. For ages I thought it was because he was struggling with gas but I don't think it's that anymore. I'm already co-sleeping with him but only getting max 90 mins sleep at a time and I'm pretty exhausted. Haa anyone else had this with their baby? Does it improve once they can roll about and get comfortable? 🤞🏻🤞🏻

What do you really need for breastfeeding?

I’m looking up and getting ads for a million things, and it’s hard to know what women ACTUALLY USE while breastfeeding and what is just useless crap. I’ve heard nipple cream/butter is a great help, but I have no clue. Let me know what you all love and use.

My september baby is finally here

My gorg girl is finally here due sept 29th born on the 7th sept 01:59 weighing a gorg 3870g, i went into spontaneous labour on tuesday morning woke up with the worst contractions which throughout the day got worse got to the hospital was 6cm dilated, made it to 9cm unmedicated before baby girl decided to go back to back in the last 1cm!! Bare in mind she was in the same position since 26weeks ahaha they knew her shoulder was going to get stuck and she was born with shoulder dystocia but no broken bones or sprains! So i had to get the epidural- anyone pregnant with a back to back baby the back contractions were the worst pain i ever felt in my life… anyways, forceps later and a small episiotomy as well - which literally after a day its healing really well down there and her tiny forceps scars are healing well as well. We are both so well and the hospital did an amazing job, another reason for epidural was they had to get her out quick as her heart rate was dropping so i had to push like asap they gave me 5 mins before the red button was pressed and a bunch of doctors ran in ahah, so far from my birth plan as i wanted to do 100% unmediated and in a water pool but at least i didn’t end up in c section and managed to push baby girl out! One of the hardest things ive ever done in my life but she is perf ❤️

Sleeping is out the window

Baby (10m) used to sleep amazingly but this week has been hell. I’ve just spent the last 2.5 hours trying to get him back to bed. Every night this week has been a battle. He goes down as usual but is waking at 11 and demanding our bed. After about 40 minutes I manage to get him back down but then he’s up again at 1 and that’s the biggest battle of the night. Taking hours to get him back to sleep then awake again around 5/6. I’m getting about 2 hours of sleep at night because I get so frustrated with how tired I am I can’t get back to sleep and end up lying awake, feeling nauseous from exhaustion and I don’t know what to do to get him back to his normal sleep pattern. I can’t function on this little sleep 😭
