Velcro babies

How is everyone getting their velcro babies to nap independently during the day?? My little guy is 7 weeks and pretty much only contact naps. On occasion he’ll do a very quick nap in the crib but has trouble connecting his sleep cycles and this usually only lasts 30 minutes and we finish the nap with a contact nap. I’m an exhausted mom and just need to get some sleep when he does during the day 😴. We’ve tried all the things, heating pad in the bassinet to make it warm before the transfer, replicating his bedtime routine, sound machine, swaddle, etc.

Just here to say same!! My boy is 8 weeks and is now even having a hard time staying asleep on me. He is also fighting his day time sleep for sometimes hours at a time. I am doing my best to soak it all in but some moments and days are hard on my mental health. Just know you’re not alone!!! And everyone says it’s temporary. ♥️♥️♥️

Neither of you are alone!! I’m here to say the same!! Especially the fighting sleep/ naps

One thing that’s helped me with my daughter is the swing, we put her in it & she falls asleep in there & once she’s deeply asleep we carefully transfer her over to the crib & she’ll sleep throughout the night or through her nap time.

10 weeks here and going through the same thing 😭😭😭

This might be too early to say but ours is finally down in the crib for the first time napping in the middle of the day. We have a decent routine at night that includes swaddling but never swaddled him during the day. My husband wrapped him up tight before leaving for work and had nearly been out since. Might have to start swaddling him during the day

I used to chest sleep because it was literally the only way to get any rest - if you’re comfortable doing it it can be done safely. Co sleeping is another option? I had my other half check in us regularly x

if I remember correctly, they are still trying to understand that they are separate from you because they were inside you for nine months. I would say it’s pretty normal for the first 12 weeks it gets better eventually lol

I have a July baby but the best way for me to get him to nap independently is to have him fall asleep on me or in the wrap and then transfer him after about 10-15 min when he’s in a deeper sleep. Honestly though he does the best/longest naps in the wrap so I just let him

Same! Struggling since she won't always latch and never gets a full feed while breastfeeding so it's really difficult to pump when I need too

Same, I have a 7 week old and during the night the only way I get him to sleep is sack with swaddle

Ditto, my little boy struggles to get enough daytime naps. He sleeps relatively well through the night, waking up every 3/4 hours for a feed. However, daytime is a tough time for him. He can only take naps, and I have to lay him on me for about 20 minutes before putting him in his bassinet. He might sleep for 20 to 40 minutes on his own. He resists after that. It’s even more challenging on days when he’s gassy. Feeding is a soothing technique that rarely helps him. Co-sleeping until he falls into a deep sleep, although we have a darkened room with white noise, he get easily distracted even with a sliver of light, so we bounce him up and down until he closes his eyes are some assisted methods we use. He even naps in a babybjorn chair, but we move him to protect his posture.

My baby wasn't sleeping well either during the night he will just cry wouldn't stay in crib or cosleeping, the swaddle helped him and he was really gassy he takes formula we switched for gentle comfort Similac and worked great and also used mylicon I would add it to his milk and everything got better he just wakes up twice during the night to feed, we burp him, diaper change and he is back to sleep

Same here! Only contact naps during the day, if I transfer to the crib she wakes up immediately, even if she is in deep sleep. I tried to ‘wear the baby’ so many times but she hates that, she also hates the swaddle. The good thing is that she is actually sleeping in the crib at night time (lol)

Binky after 6+ months?

So my son has recently turned 6 months and a week or so. I wanted to know what you guys are doing binky wise? Are you weening or ? Because I have only been letting or giving him his when he cry’s super bad having a hard time sleeping or if he grabs it himself. Doing it this way I have noticed him slowly put the binky down himself but maybe I’m moving too early?

3 month baby lost most of her hair?

Hey all - my 3 month old has lost almost all her hair 😢 she looks like Groundskeeper Willy right now. She has a bit of cradle cap, but the hair lost is a ring around her head. Is this expected? She was my little ginger haired girl 🥺

Unbelievable

My MIL told my husband that I should be breastfeeding(nursing) and that pumping is not the right way to feed my baby….
Anyone else thinks that’s wild??

Maternity bralettes

Hi ladies, I’m looking for recommendations for natural material (cotton, bamboo, etc) padded bralettes.

I’m a 23 weeks pregnant with a very small chest but wide back. I’ve always been blessed that I can wear bralettes and looking for some that I can wear now and for breastfeeding that have some padding so my nips don’t show 😅 I’m also very aware that my boobs should be getting bigger later on so a bit unsure about sizing if anyone has any advice. Thanks ❤️

Olbas Oil

My 11 week old is really congested and struggling with a cold. The infant olbas oil says unsuitable for under 3 months. I think I’m just paranoid, but will we be okay to use it? And if so how is best to use it?
