Hi ladies
I’m around five weeks postpartum after a forceps delivery, an episiotomy and tearing. Today I noticed some urine leakage when I needed to go to the toilet, and I’ve also been feeling heaviness and pressure in my vagina. I tried jogging yesterday, so I’m wondering whether I overdid it and that’s why I’m feeling sore today.
Has anyone experienced something similar? What helped with your recovery, and how long did it take before you started feeling like yourself again?
I’m also hoping to be intimate with my husband around six weeks postpartum, but I’m feeling quite nervous after everything. How did you ease back into sex, and how did you know you were healed and ready? Did you have a check with your GP or a pelvic floor physio first?
I’d really appreciate hearing your experiences—both with recovery and feeling comfortable and confident again. 🤍

So I had an episiotomy and tore with my first and then split all the stitches my first week pp so my healing probably ended up taking longer than yours will. I only had a 2 week pp visit scheduled but I was also in there a couple times the first week because of the tearing. I never went to a pelvic floor therapist but I wish I did. I think it would have helped a lot because I still peed if I didn’t have my legs closed when I laughed, sneezed or coughed. I tried sex at 6 weeks but immediately I was like noooope things are still healing. I don’t think I could comfortably have sex until 9-10 weeks pp. you will know pretty quickly if you are healed enough and definitely expect to ease back slowly and gently.

Hi hun, exercise might be causing the soreness. I worked out around the same time as you after my epsiotomy and was sore for a bit. As for intimacy, I didn’t get intimate with my husband until about 3 months in when I started to feel normal again and was no longer in pain. Try to do yoga/ stretches instead of cardio or intense work out and use lots of lube during sex

Hey I didn’t experience an episiotomy or forceps delivery, but did experience the heaviness around my vagina. It was a bladder prolapse, and I worked with a pelvic floor therapist to correct it. A heads up, jogging specifically can make it worse. Try to find a different form of aerobic exercise.
But also no pressure to exercise at all — I definitely did not / could not at 5 weeks . Even walking was difficult then, but that’s just me.

Get a referral to a physio if you can x
We live in a small village and the 2 nearest cities are around 45 minutes from us. Seems silly to get the baby out for the sake of 15 minutes

I am overwhelmed by the amount of strollers options and prices, I have a 3 month old and I would like an easier stroller to take in and out of the car that has pockets and big storage space underneath. Any recommendations? Also something that I would be able to add a second kid in the future.

My infant is 8 weeks old and I love her more than anything but it’s getting a little overwhelming as I feel like a single mom sometimes. My boyfriend is in school and he works part time which I understand he can’t help but during the night he never gets up to feed her a bottle and I am barely getting any sleep. During the day when he is home he is mostly playing video games and only really helps for maybe an hour or two. I have her all day which is also hard because she is in the habit of not wanting to sleep in her bassinet but on me so I honestly never have time to take a nap, shower or even cook sometimes. I tried bringing it up but it just made him feel bad and nothing changed. I would love advice on how to talk to him about this without making him upset.

So recently my 2 year old has learned that he gets mad/ frustrated . Some girl took the ball from him like 2 times and the 3rd time he got mad and kinda growled but like when you’re mad. Then I bought him Legos and he’s learning some pieces are hard to stick together well he built a tower and screamed I’m mad right now ! And I told him it’s ok take a deep breath and let’s pick them up. And I just started reading tiny humans big emotions. Now I guess I better hurry up but for now how do you guys handle situations like these especially in public I know it starts at home but I need advice for both just so I don’t tell him the wrong thing and make him feel like he can’t cry or have feelings
