Should they pay 50/50 on mortgage and all the other bills? Or the one earns more should pays more? Or it's not a should , but it'd be nice the one earns more pays more?

All money is just ours. All goes in and out the same account. Has nothing to do with housework and childcare.

50/50 on bills and then an agreed upon amount in savings. If I was earned more I'd potentially put a little more in savings x

For it to truly be fair and equal, you should be contributing an equal percentage of your income, not a fixed amount. So whoever makes more will contribute more than the other.

Only if the couple's savings are also going to be 50/50

I mean, if the partners arenāt in a āitās our moneyā type of relationship, I think whoever makes more money should contribute more.

I pay childcare and he pays the household bills which is about the same . We both have our own bills. Eg phones and car insurance which we pay separately

Before marriage we always did it percentage wise so that its fair we both paid the same % of our income into a household funds pot and all our joint expenses, bills, mortgage/ food came from that. Now we have married we do not have seperate finances so thats simpler.

We have always covered bills proportionately. When we both worked full time and earned around the same we both contributed 50/50, then for example when I was in the unpaid part of maternity leave it was 0/100, now I work part time so itās around 30/70. We both have similar amounts of money left for ourselves after bills, it seems fair to us and we will carry on adjusting as incomes change.

Chuck it all in, doesnāt matter who makes more. Itās our money, we are a team. We both contribute with everything we have and we spend what we need. Even when living together unmarried it was all in and our money regardless of who is the breadwinner. Thereās no I in team.

Me and my partners finances are completely separate, we pay 50/50 on the major bills and just buy groceries when we see are needed, I like different things than what he and his son likes so I for the most part buy my own things. I make 2x more than what he does but his credit is better and he has like 10x more in savings and I definitely donāt feel entitled to that, now if we are making a big purchase, we both contribute and save together.

Weāve never once broken it down this way or any way. All of our money is all of ours.

I think all the money should be in a join account so everything shared. So yes 50/50 but also buying other stuff is also shared

My husband puts more in but thatās mainly because heās put all his car bills on the account š he does also earn more than me

Weāre an equal partnership, we work hard and have always worked hard, his work just happens to have better compensation than what I was doing before becoming a SAHM and what Iāll end up doing when Iām back to work. Weāre married and everything has been combined since we moved in together. I donāt have the earning potential he does even if I retrained in his field Iād be years behind and Iāve made sacrifices in order to be a SAHM and support his career. I absolutely feel 100% entitled to half of everything if we should split because I have contributed equally to our relationship and the life weāve built just sometimes in different ways. Weāre not 50/50 on housework cos Iām at home but he does whatever is needed.
If not combined financially I think a couple who respect each other would work out an amount to pay thatās a fair % of their income. It doesnāt make sense for a higher earner to be able to do and buy whatever they want while a partner struggles with joint bills. Be a team.
I am 4ā10 and as the title states 12 weeks pregnant. My son will be 23 months old when his sibling is born. I recently moved from FL to MI so my son could grow up around in laws, but that doesnāt mean I have my village. ā¤ļøā𩹠We were planning to buy a larger home next year but the surprise baby (I was told Iād not be able to conceive again after a botched c-section) we likely wonāt be moving until the following year into a bigger home. Does anyone have advice or has been through having 2 under 2 and still wanting to get back into college online as well as managing a small home with very limited yard space? We had planned so well and ended up being hit 70mph head on in the middle of a custody case for my nephew and my identity being stolen in the six figures. We fell pretty hard and picking up the pieces. It feels like Groundhog Day everyday, especially not knowing people or having my own village. My husbandsā family has a strong mentality of only blood is family so I am just an outsider living 1000 miles away from anyone I know, home alone 6x a week and feeling defeated and scared about baby on the way. I felt like I was just getting back to feeling like me before pregnancy began. Did anyone else lose their sense of self, identity, other than being a mom, once becoming a mother?

My son is 18 months and he does not eat pieces of anything he still has pures and little pasta and some lumpy pieces but he will not eat a big piece/chunk unless itās something that I am having. If I try to give him pieces of fruit/vegetables he will end up just playing with it rather than eating it. I donāt know what to do.

I, 29F have been with my kids father(40M) on and off for over 9 years. We're going to call him D. D has always been a good man throughout our relationship and an amazing father to our two children which are both boys aged between 10 and 8. We always went out or spent amazing time together as a couple and as a family up until recently. He has become super mean always yelling or copping an attitude when it's totally unnecessary. He picks fights over stupid stuff and would yell at the children for things that they didn't need to be yelled at for. Well, skipping to this year. He yelled at me so much to where I have a fear of him living with me. He's thrown things around the house breaking stuff and destroying anything within arms reach. All of it is because he felt he was losing control. He said it was my attitude telling him what to do or me complaining about how much I do and none of what he did. I work full time as what the kids call a midnight ballerina. I also do all the grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning, laundry, getting the kids to and from school, as well as care for his needs and paying all the bills. He hasn't been working at all. Just been hanging out with his friends claiming he was working. I got tired of him not doing anything. I really mean nothing. I was taking Uber to and from work while D had a vehicle. I ended up kicking him out. He's been out of the house for a little over a month now. He told me he never agreed to leave before leaving. What I'm getting at here is, why do I miss him so much when he called me names when I tried to get him to get a job? Why do I miss him when I would watch him go nuts throwing stuff around the house and foam at the mouth when he yelled at me? Why do I miss him even though he screamed at me in front of our children? Am I in the wrong for demanding him to get a job? Am I in the wrong for kicking him out? I came here because I want someone else's opinion that I don't know. Can someone please help me understand what I'm feeling and point me on the right path?

I was out today with my daughter in her pram, well we were walking under some trees to a cafe literally seconds away, well we got there and I saw something on my daughters hand, I took her hand to know what was on it and realised, I quickly held her hand and wiped it down with baby wipes, while full on having an argument with my husband because he couldn't hear in the busy cafe what was going on, it was just a little bit on her hand, it was mainly on the side of her pram, inside and her blanket, which I quickly removed, I grabbed my daughter and whisked her to the loos and did a full wash of her hands and full explore of her mouth and lips to see if he put them in, I found nothing and I checked, I refused to put her in her pram for the rest of the day, I used the baby carrier, I got some anti bac spray for the pram and as soon as I back at out rented holiday cottage I took the insert and anything else that can be washed out the pram to wash in the washing machine, I have done it correctly, I am still thinking about it

Iām kind of new to this stay at home mom thing. We have recently done a huge move from Canada to the United States. Previously I had my son who is non verbal autistic, enrolled in preschool and day care, so he was kept busy most of the day.
With the move, I am unable to work with the visa Iām on but also decided it was probably best to stay home with my boys. We live in Nevada, and I havenāt heard the greatest things about the school system here, especially for non verbal kiddos.
My problem now is we spend way too much time watching tv. Itās really hot here in the afternoons so I donāt love spending too much time outside. We try and hit that in the mornings.
I also have a 1 year old, so I like to be home in the afternoon so he can have a nap.
Itās also not as easy as ājust play with your kidā well I wish I could, but itās really hard to get engagement from him. I also have adhd, and since thereās no feedback loop of interaction, I get very easily bored. So I feel like an awful parent on my phone all the time.
Looking for advice, maybe help with a routine.
