Going insane?

Please please tell me what your doing with your 9 month olds throughout the day. My partner works 12hour shifts and it’s just so draining being in the house with a fussy 9 month olds who I have to try keep a nap routine for.

What are we doing to keep them entertained and us feeling like we have an inch of sanity. Cannot even go to toilet without him crying and it’s so draining. I want positive and supportive advice please :(

I keep reminding myself its just a stage both my girls went through it too.
My boy has started recently and its so draining I honestly have to just let him cry sometimes I have other kids to look after and I know he's ok....he's in a safe play pen.
Otherwise I'll rotate him being in the the play pen, bouncer, seat chair in the kitchen with us or being held. Usually I'm on the toilet with the door open singing his favourite nursery rhymes 🤣🤣🤣

That's rough that your partner is away for so long!

I split my day into 3 chunks:

Morning (before first nap) is when she's most rested so I can actually do a tiny bit of housework before her first bottle as this is the time she's most likely to be content playing by herself and exploring.

First nap can start anywhere from 10-11.30 depending on how tired she is and is now lasting an hour.

I make sure we're both dressed and ready in the morning so that once she's finished her first nap we head straight out. This week we've been swimming, to a new soft play, to the supermarket with daddy in the car one day, met a friend today, and just for walks and might stop off in a cafe.

Second nap is usually 60-90 mins starting a bit later now around 3.30/4pm.

Between last wake and bedtime we're playing again, reading tonnes of books, having dinner together and we start bedtime at around 7.30pm.

My partner was away a lot over the summer (4 weeks in total) & splitting the day in my mind helped immensely. X

Also they have so much going on at this age - my daughter has been super fussy recently but over the past 2 weeks she's started eating properly, her first 2 teeth came through at the same time, she's started properly babbling, she's crawling, she's pulling herself up on things, clapping, and all sorts of other new stuff all at once 😂 pleased to report she's now much happier again!

* in the morning I'm playing with her and reading and singing, if I notice she's happy playing independently I step back and take a seat 😂

Am I wrong for wanting boundaries with visitors

My partner and I live together, and I’m a first-time mom to our two-month-old baby. Since the very first day I came home from the hospital after my C-section, while I was in pain and recovering, he had friends over without consulting me. I was so overwhelmed that I ended up crying in front of them.

Since then, he has continued agreeing to visits on weekdays and weekends without consulting me first. Sometimes, we’ll literally be in the middle of a conversation, and he’ll interrupt me to say, “Can you open the door? So-and-so is downstairs to see the baby.”

Yesterday was the height of it all, and I finally had enough. He came home from work around 9:30 p.m., and I had been taking care of the baby the entire time. He then asked if his friend had called me because they wanted to come see the baby. I finally confronted him because I’m tired of this happening repeatedly.

I’m exhausted, and weekends are my only chance to get things done while he helps with the baby. I don’t mind visitors, but I expect advance notice and to be consulted before anyone is invited over. The frustrating part is that when I speak up, I’m made to feel like the villain while he gets to be the good guy who says yes to everyone.

Am I wrong for wanting basic consideration and boundaries in my own home?

Potty Training

I am in the process of potty training my son and need any tips or tricks! He does pretty well when he doesn’t have a diaper or pull up on but as soon as we put anything on him even training underwear he starts to have accidents 🤦‍♀️ I have been off all week and have to send him back to daycare on Monday. Clearly the commando method can’t be used at daycare. HELP!

If you already have a school age child, what was your number 1 important thing for choosing their primary school?

I just can’t decide between 2!

Am I overreacting?

I have been with my child Father for a little bit over three years. We have a 14 month old baby. He complains about the way that I speak to him which I really don’t have a clue what I’m wrong. I’m Caribbean he’s African. I’ve tried to tone down. We still have been going at it for probably two years. He thinks I’m selfish and doesn’t show him love. He complains that I yell, which i don’t think i do, or talk crazy. He wants all these things from me, but isn’t nice to me.

He’s a great father , he provides, but I feel like it’s getting to a point where I can’t do it anymore. Every time we have an argument every time I bring something up of what I don’t like he always turn it back to me.

He says well I’m doing this and I have talked about it and I haven’t changed. I could never bring up something I don’t like without him turning it around to me, and lecturing me.

two days ago he’s said that he’s intentionally being an ass to me so I can see how it feels like when i do it to him and at this point it’s like why are we even in a relationship?
