Growth Scan Accuracy

Just wanting to hear from mum’s who had growth scans that they then acted on eg induction/ c sections and whether babies birth weight reflected the estimated weight at scans!

Thanks 🤍

Growth scans for my first baby were very inaccurate, especially at the end (1st centile baby measuring 50th). Growth scans for my second baby were spot on.

My growth scan 3 weeks before baby was born said 7:13 baby was born today weighing 7:14 so either only gained 0.1 in his last 3 weeks or the measurement was very much off. We put off induction until we were 12 days over which was a risk but totally worked out for us.

Our growth scan overestimated her weight, she was born a pound and half smaller then they had predicted her a week before her birth so I’m glad we went ahead with the induction

I had a growth scan at 38 weeks, measuring at the 56th percentile. Estimated weight for 40 weeks was 8ib 2… my baby was born a week late in the 95.8th percentile at 10ib 3oz

I had a growth scan yesterday at 41 weeks, 7lbs8. I’ve literally just had baby girl tonight and she’s 8lbs6!

Had a growth scan at 39 weeks due to bump measuring small, went for scan was told baby hadn’t grown since 36 week scan and that he was only 5lbs and wasn’t going to grow anymore. Sent for induction the next day which ended up in Emergency C section for him to be born a healthy 6.10 🫠🫣
