Anyone get their son a baby doll? Did they love it?
Thinking of getting mine one for christmas as he's gravitated towards one a couple of times at a toddler group. For context my son will be 18 months, nearly 19 months at Christmas.

Yes around the same age I gave them one and they learn to nurture and care for a baby and to be honest they are all boy they love their monster trucks. They love their video games now that they are the ages of five and seven.

My son is currently 19 months and absolutely loves babies, pushchairs etc. His nan (my mum) is buying him a pram for Christmas so he stops stealing his cousins! I hate the parents that are like “he’s a boy. He shouldn’t play with dolls”. One day that little boy will grow up and be a father. Why can girls play being mum but boys can’t play dad?

Yes especially when we found out we were expecting another we really got the baby doll in the mix of toys to play with! I def agree it teaches them to love and care for a baby and to be gentle and respectful honestly! My son loved his baby doll and it helped him transition to having a little baby around the house when our youngest was born! And this is coming from a full blown feral, monster truck, plays in mud, soccer and baseball playing boy!

I plan to when my son gets to be that age.

My one year old has a baby doll. He is slowly learning to be nice to his baby. Me and his dad both make a point of putting baby nicely in a chair and picking baby up to comfort if he drops them. Now he doesn’t drop his baby on their head nearly as much and sometimes even kisses them.

Yes he got a baby doll for his first birthday. He gives her a bottle, brushes her hair, pretend washes her with a washcloth. He is really into belly buttons right now too and loves to see that she has one too

I have a nephew that has a older sister (10 year age difference) and he loveeees baby dolls. I dont think its a bad thing at all

My son has a bunch of girl cousins all into dolls and he plays with them so I mean yea if he wants one I'll get him one.

Yes my 7 month has a little boy baby doll. He was really excited to see it at the store and loves looking at its little hands

I got my son a baby doll. He like it for one day then he say me playing with it (I was trying to teach him how to play with it) he stop liking it. He now has a Mickey Mouse doll which he treats like a baby.

I got my son a tiny one with a little milk bottle, its only about 8/9 inches long so not baby sized by any stretch but he loves it, feeds it, puts it down for a nap, covers its "bo boos" etc. Definitely not a bad thing 😊

Playing with baby dolls teaches them empathy and kindness… boys should be encourage to play with baby dolls xx

yes definitely best decision ever!

I wanted to when I was pregnant, but was overridden by my husband and inlaws

My boys haven't wanted one yet. But my 3 year old loves his stuff animals, and kitchen But I will definitely get them one when they experience any interest too them.

My son (currently 11) had a baby doll when he was toddler/pre K age and he loved it. I also got him a little baby bottle/bib/swaddle set with it and let him use the smaller travel size diaper bag that I was no longer using to keep everything in.

I did and he loved it!
It especially helped for tantrums. I’d ask if he needed a hug from Kyle the doll and he’d squeeze it to get out the frustration. Humans touching a child when upset can actually prolong tantrums but with the doll he was in control and could hug it or not when he needed to.
He still likes to take Kyle on outings or sit him at the table with us.

I was thinking about the same thing, my son keeps playing with stuffed animals and calling them babies
Thanks everyone for your responses! I've never been one for gendered clothes or toys - I think every child should have access to whatever they wish!
But it's soo wonderful to hear how having a doll helped being out nurturing and caring sides in your boys! Definitely solidified me getting him one for Christmas.
He already likes to kiss his animal teddies, and I think a human looking one will definitely continue bringing that side out in him!

My little one is 2y 2m old. She has just all of a sudden stopped napping. Nursery told me they spend half hour with her and she won't sleep and same at home. I'm really worried nursery will stop trying. But she just will not settle down at all all of a sudden. Help please. It's way too early for her to drop the nap!

My baby is really congested overnight. She’s always congested - but particularly more snorty after a bottle of Kendamil. She’s primarily breast fed with one bottle of formula a day in the afternoon. Her poops are also explosive and look like this. Does this look like CMPA, so sorry for the photo! Two first poops from two different mornings. Will add the second to the comments.

Can I put a car seat in the front passenger seat for travelling with my baby?! He hates the car and just cries if he’s in the back by himself. I have family 4 hours drive away and I have to do the travel alone most of the time. It’s so stressful and exhausting trying to entertain him and I can’t just let him cry. How do you travel with a baby who hates the car? 😩

I’m literally at breaking point, with my baby, his 3 week old and there’s some nights where he will do a screaming party in the early hours of the morning and it’s nonstop crying and I feel like a awful mum for it, I try everything to settle him and he not having none of it, and when I got my son checked at hospital because I was so worried they said he was healthy which is good news that he healthy just feel deflated and hopeless mum, and it’s destroying my mental health, at the minute.
I don’t remember my oldest boy being anything like this, I remember doing feeds and he’d stay up but not the screaming constantly.
