Bed transition

Hey all, looking for some help or advice with sleep transitioning I bought my little boy a double floor bed and we can’t seem to get him in the bed on his own - one of us have to lie with him until he falls asleep and then crawl out but if he wakes up in the night he cries and ones of us has to get back in the bed with him and then around 5am he wakes up and turns his light on and just sits on his bed then I’m finding myself having to get into bed with him to get him to go back to sleep as he is tired. But running on a lack of sleep and time with my partner is starting to take its toll so hoping for some help advice and tips that people have done or is the solution to just co sleep with him👀

I mean my advice is to just co sleep when he needs it. He'll only want you in his bed for such a short period, and you have the rest of your life to share a bed with your husband. I kinda love getting into bed with kids tbh

Have you asked him what he is worried about? For our son it was ‘the quiet at night’ that he was worried out. He just hates the house being silent and it scars him. He also needs a lot of light in his room! We gave him a tonie box and it’s been revolutionary. If he wakes up and he puts a tonie on very loudly and falls back to sleep 99% of the time

Leftover pregnancy/postpartum products

I have a load of leftover products either unopened or only used once, it seems a shame to throw them away any ideas what I can do with them? I don’t have any friends expecting or likely to get pregnant soon and I guess most places wouldn’t take them as donations? Based in London.

Baby grunting syndrome?! Anyone else experiencing this with their baby? My baby seems to be doing this, appears to make him uncomfortable, cries for a bit then opens his bowels, seems to be fine till next feed.. unless his got wind 🤷🏻‍♀️

Newborn grunting and straining is most often caused by infant dyschezia (or "grunting baby syndrome"), a normal developmental phase where the baby hasn't yet learned how to relax their pelvic floor and anal sphincter while pushing out stool or gas.

Can’t believe I woke up to this

I woke up maybe a couple minutes after my seven month old woke up. He wasn’t crying so I let him be maybe five minutes later he starts crying so I go to get him out of his crib. As soon as I pick him up, I realized that he is covered almost head to toe in baby poo. Part of it he did himself. The other part of it because it was a blowout. It was all over his face, back, stomach, feet. I never thought I’d have to deal with them playing in their own poo until they were toddlers. 😭

Advanced autism possibility. Long one please read.

A silly remark from another mum at a toddler group has got my head frazzled and I’m now feeling concerned. I would love some advice from other mums on what you think of this situation.

My little boy has just turned 2 last month, he’s extremely sociable, we’ve gone to classes since he was around 2 weeks old and see’s other kids at nursery. We also have a huge family and friendship network with a lot of kids around his age.

He’s always been quite quick with his milestones, his talking is amazing for his age. He’s got a real interest in book, letters, numbers and shapes etc.

He now counts to around 30, he can tell you the full alphabet and can point to letters/numbers when jumbled up and still identify. He’s great with shapes and colours too. I just genuinely thought this was pretty standard. He’s always just shown a keen interest in learning through play! We play with his tuff tray a lot and I incorporate a lot of learning skills ie literacy and maths into this while still having fun.

Anyways, we were at a group and another mum was listening to him chat away and I asked him to spell his name, he’s been doing this now while pointing to letters and spelling it out (it’s on his bedroom wall) and now he doesn’t need to see the letters to spell it as he’s got it in his memory. She approached and asked his age etc and literally asked if I had concerns of autism. I was shocked if I’m honest.

Later in the group one of the members got out his favourite book, he reads it most days at nursery and at home. We love the book therefore he knows what’s coming in the story and as the lady was reading my little boy decided to join in and was telling her what’s coming next. The same lady from earlier was sat next to me and make a snide remark, not a compliment and went ‘wow brainy eh’.

When we’re in supermarkets and he see’s the numbers above the aisles he likes to point them out. Or if we see a car parked he likes to tell me the entire reg plate. Is this a fixation or is it just an interest?

This has me so confused.

Can I have opinions please 🥲
