Not feeling excited yet

I’m 17 weeks with my first, and to be honest I’m not really feeling excited or attached yet. Not after the first scan, or hearing the heartbeat. I’m just curious if others are experiencing the same thing. I imagine something will trigger me to feel something, but I don’t know if that will be finding out the gender, feeling it move, or maybe it won’t even be until I meet them. Everyone else around me seems far more excited and enthusiastic right now!

It's really normal for some people to not feel attached until they meet their baby, also this is a massive adjustment! Some people don't get excited or bonded because it's their first and they have so many other things to handle/manage. For example I've not really spoken to my baby yet and I found out she could hear now.
I would bring it up with a midwife though, just so they can get you to an obstetrics mental health appointment if you feel you need a professionals opinion. I would also like to say this doesn't mean at all you won't have a bond with baby when they come or make you more susceptible to PPD/PPA but if you ever feel you have symptoms of either during your PP journey definitely speak to someone

I wouldn’t feel too worried, sometimes it’s the case of it not feeling entirely real yet!

I am excited but not at the same time, I know the gender I’ve felt the little kicks but I just don’t feel like it’s real, almost like im waiting for something to happen so I can’t let my self be excited if that makes sense? But everyone’s feelings are normal and valid. My suggestion maybe try to do things with bump eg, stories, listening to music with the phone on your bump.

Pregnancy

I’m 34 and thinking about trying for a another baby, but I have quite a few worries and concerns, especially about my age and whether it might affect my chances of getting pregnant or having a healthy pregnancy. How was your experience? Do you have any advice or tips to help me feel less anxious about pregnancy at this age? ☺️✨

Postpartum high blood pressure

Has anyone else ended up with high blood pressure postpartum?

I was borderline a lot during pregnancy and then very normal and sometimes low towards the end. Since she’s been out my blood pressure has been high managed with medication but it seems like I might just have high blood pressure now. I’m trying to manage with food and walking every day, but I think sleep deprivation is the one thing I can’t really change. My doctor has been really good and monitoring how I’m doing etc.

Has anyone else gone through this? How are you handling it?
