Pregnancy

I’m 34 and thinking about trying for a another baby, but I have quite a few worries and concerns, especially about my age and whether it might affect my chances of getting pregnant or having a healthy pregnancy. How was your experience? Do you have any advice or tips to help me feel less anxious about pregnancy at this age? ☺️✨

I just had twins at 36 and it was one of my healthiest pregnancies. Staying active and diet is super key. Careful eating sweet potatoes it will up your chance of twins

I’m planing on having another baby in the next 18 months! I just turned 34 in September :)

It's all based on the person, for myself, my first 2 were in my late 20's and they were far easier but recovery was more painful than my last. My last I had her 4 days before I turned 35 and it was the hardest pregnancy as I had HG and GD but her delivery was the quickest and least painful, and I recovered within days it seemed

I'm turning 36 next Wednesday and just had our first baby (7 months old)
I had the best pregnancy! That being said It was my first and I feel like the second can be harder on the body. Im also a dance teacher so physically fit but I was able to keep teaching 16 hours a week until my due date! If in your heart you want another I would go for it!!!! There is also some studies that show having your last baby later in life has benefits! I don't remember what they are off hand but look into that it you want some positivity💓

Everyone is different, but I'm older than you, and I had a very uncomplicated second pregnancy & my recovery so far (6 mo pp) is going better than my first (3.5 years ago)!
Maybe to ease your anxiety, you could go for a physical exam and possibly fertility testing if you want to make sure you have enough eggs as to not waste any time "just trying" before then going for testing? Definitely schedule an appointment with your OBGYN & discuss. My doctor is in her 40s and just had her second as well and was very encouraging!

Turning 35 next week had my first in August had a very good boring pregnancy with no complications and a lovely c section experience as I went overdue by 2 weeks, still felt fine

So I already have two sons and 16 weeks pregnant. I am 39 and I also had concerns because of how society makes us feel about having kids mid to late 30s onwards. I started to follow older women having babies on instagram and really put me at ease about it all.
I was lucky I conceived after 5 months of actively trying and so far so good with the pregnancy.
If this is something you want go for it!

I had my little girl at 36, this is my first baby. My pregnancy was drama free I worked until 38 weeks and even moved house at 8 months pregnant! I was induced which ended in c section however it was not age related. My advice is to keep fit before pregnancy, take your vitamins (I favoured vitamin D, magnesium and folic acid) and try and stay active throughout pregnancy too!!

I've just had a wonderful pregnancy and a healthy baby girl at 34 so it definitely isn't black and white age wise. A lot of mums are older these days, loads of mums are older than me with newborns at the groups I go to!

I was fine at 38 until my blood pressure skyrocketed at 36 weeks. They induced me at midnight at 37 weeks, it failed and after 42 hrs of labor they did a c section. Then I hemorrhaged and almost died.

One and done for me!

I'm 36 and due in 3 weeks. No issues at all (:

I’d say 34 is a pretty common/normal age to have a baby these days, so I wouldn’t stress about it!

After 10 years of infertility…I had my first child at 35 & my second child when I was 36… a year apart and my body did fine… mind you I was in my lower 200’slbs when I conceived & I had two healthy pregnancies back to back. Water broke on both. No blood pressure or sugar problems with either. I stayed active moving around a lot. I also did what I wasn’t suppose to and I traveled LATE in my pregnancies against doctors orders (I had no choice otherwise I wouldn’t have traveled). I drove 12 hours stopping every two hours to walk around so I wouldn’t get blood clots… my body did fine… by Gods grace everything was fine… you got this momma… the doctors told me from the beginning I was high risk due to age and weight but my health was fine the entire time.

I’m 35 and 40 weeks pregnant! I had some random things happen in this pregnancy that didn’t happen in others, but it wasn’t a hard or difficult pregnant. Just different!

Postpartum high blood pressure

Has anyone else ended up with high blood pressure postpartum?

I was borderline a lot during pregnancy and then very normal and sometimes low towards the end. Since she’s been out my blood pressure has been high managed with medication but it seems like I might just have high blood pressure now. I’m trying to manage with food and walking every day, but I think sleep deprivation is the one thing I can’t really change. My doctor has been really good and monitoring how I’m doing etc.

Has anyone else gone through this? How are you handling it?

Not feeling excited yet

I’m 17 weeks with my first, and to be honest I’m not really feeling excited or attached yet. Not after the first scan, or hearing the heartbeat. I’m just curious if others are experiencing the same thing. I imagine something will trigger me to feel something, but I don’t know if that will be finding out the gender, feeling it move, or maybe it won’t even be until I meet them. Everyone else around me seems far more excited and enthusiastic right now!
