Hi all! our lactation consultant mentioned my baby has tongue tie, although she feeds well, it’s not painful for me and she’s gaining weight. However, she drips lots of milk during the feeds, she often spits up a lot and she’s very gassy. Thus she suggested to cut it next week, when she’ll be three weeks old. I am so scared she will have a nursing strike. My first baby stopped feeding from the breasts after the procedure for so long and I had mastitis. She developed a preference for the bottle but I had no other choice at that time because the pain for me was unbearable. With my second I don’t have this issue and I am scared she’ll stop breastfeeding too! My second never took a bottle. Anyone can share their experience?

Tongue ties don't always have to be cut. Is she clicking when feeding?

I personally had no issue I had my baby’s cut best decision I ever made

Your situation sounds exactly like mine was. I booked a home visit with a specialist who I ended up seeing 3 more times whilst we spent a few weeks working on oral exercises. These were important to carry out every single day but took only a couple of minutes. Everything improved and I didn’t cut the tongue tie. successfully bf now at 8 months with improvement on the dripping, spit up, and gas. I’d recommend trying oral exercises first in case cutting isn’t necessary for you too

We had a tongue tie but it was very at the tip if his tongue. So at 4 weeks we cut it and he didn't needed to relearning the latch as he made it quite good after that. Gained weight properly. Now he is 11 months old

We had our baby evaluated today by his pediatrician. Our nurse in the hospital mentioned it looked like he had a tongue tie, which wasn’t surprising as my husband had it, but he was latching and feeding so well that she said we could probably ignore it. Well fast forward to him being 10 days old and now he spits up constantly, occasionally clicks while feeding, has awful reflux, and can only feed for short sessions because he chokes. Our pediatrician says he has a pretty severe tongue tie AND a lip tie. His procedure is already scheduled for this coming Tuesday and I’m so excited for his life to be easier.

I have friends who didn't have tongue tie cut - either because it wasn't identified or because they didn't want to have the procedure done but it then went on to impact the child's speech when they were older. For one this meant a cut at toddler stage which is much more traumatic

Anyone else’s baby completely bury their heads wherever they can?
Is she okay like this. Worry she’ll start struggling to breathe. But if I move her she just makes her way back there.

My 6 months old rolls a lot in her crib. Last night she bumped her head on ut when rolling. Any recommendations or links to get some sort of padded protector around the crib??

Hello!
I am struggling with my 20 months old. She’s amazing but when it’s time to go to sleep she just won’t sleep. Napping is almost impossible and bedtime is eternal. It takes me at least an hour to put her to sleep. If I am not literally next to her, she will cry and won’t stop until I come back (she can cry for 30 mins no problem and never get tired). Also she won’t allow my husband to put her to sleep.
I know this is my fault because I didn’t sleep training her correctly when I was supposed to but I keep trying everything and nothing works. Does anyone have any advice on how to teach her to fall asleep?
Thank you for your time!

So I just need to ask os Huckleberry worth paying for, I need help with my daughter, she has hit the four months stage and last night sent me to the edge, she took over an hour to get her to sleep, I had her asleep around six ISH on me went to transfer after half an hour, and she woke up, checked the app and she needed milk then she went back to sleep around eight ish on me, managed to transfer her to her cot till 10 ISH she had another bottle and went straight back to sleep afterwards but then started fussing around two ISH in the cot eyes closed but whining, I put the dummy in and she went back to sleep and she did this again, still with her eyes closed about half an hour after, then up for four am, had some milk and a nappy change back down near five till eight in the morning, I have been tracking it on huckleberry and wondered if it was worth paying for the premium to get more advice on how to get her to sleep through like she used to, I am going to do a bathing routine three times a week as they not to bathe a baby too much and then I am trying to have wind down times between half six and seven, I am knackered and trying anything but does anyone else's child fuss during the night? Mine does I said before but she doesn't open her eyes or anything so I pop the dummy in to sooth her and try and let her fall back to sleep herself, I watch to see if her eyes open at all. Am I doing this right because I am confused and tired.
