How did people find being pregnant over Christmas??

I only just found out I’m pregnant my test says 1-2 weeks. And I’m wondering peoples experiences over Christmas pregnant? I’m scared incase I’m sick and won’t enjoy it. I work in a really busy retail shop also and it’s lifting boxes/ on your feet all day I don’t know how I’ll do that? And did anyone miss having a drink over Christmas time?

I was newly pregnant over Christmas twice . I also work in a salon on my feet and it’s the busiest time of year .
I actually found that keeping busy kept my mind off of the morning sickness . Still wasn’t easy . As for lifting I believe my dr said nothing over 30 lbs but I ended up carrying / holding my toddler a lot this time around ( about 27 lbs ) it was fine .
Not drinking was fine it was actually nice not being hung over - i did pretend I was drinking because I didn’t want anyone to know yet .

I wish I had been pregnant over Christmas in the cold rather than the bazillion heat waves we had this summer,

When you feel comfortable talk to your boss about changing your duties as you shouldn’t really be lifting and bending ect while pregnant, but I was pregnant over Christmas, I was only a couple weeks pregnant (found out at 4 weeks on the 4th of December) and I didn’t find it too bad, I have 4 siblings and my mum and my Nana who all live together so we came to my mums for Christmas, she bought me food I could eat and wouldn’t be sick from and we had a really good day honestly, didn’t do too much and went to bed early

Then on Boxing Day we went to see more family who half of them where drunk which was abit weird being completely sober around them lol, o took my own food as most food was making me sick and o just chilled out with my less drunk family lol

Feeling sick at work sucks but everyone is different. Hopefully your nausea won’t be too bad. I’ve mostly been ok at work in my pregnancies. Expect to sleep basically whenever you’re not at work though at least in the first trimester. The lifting isn’t really a problem until your bump is big enough to be in the way. It’s safe for the majority of people to continue heavy lifting throughout pregnancy and having an active job can actually improve your birth experience apparently

If I was between 5 and 11 weeks over Christmas I’d been feeling so sick and wouldn’t enjoy any of the festive foods. Anywhere before or after I’d been absolutely fine!
Only my experience of morning sickness though, you may be completely different

I was with my first but didn’t know so I ate/drank everything I shouldn’t have… just speak to work about the lifting. Even if you don’t enjoy it it’s one day and plenty more Christmases to enjoy. Don’t over think it x

Almost baby time!!

It’s getting close to my scheduled Csection with my 3rd baby and I’m getting so nervous I could throw up. It makes me cringe so bad knowing I have to go through surgery again. My first ever surgery was my 2nd baby I had to have an emergency Csection at 34 weeks and it wasn’t bad at all but knowing this time it’s planned got me so nervous

Starting sertraline 28 weeks

I just wanted to know people experience on starting sertraline while pregnant. I have been on it once before and found once it kicked in it did help me.

I had a bad few months of anxiety last year which led me to not be able to sleep and now I’m pretty sure I have sleep anxiety. I’m finding the lack of sleep in pregnancy so stressful and although I’ve been put on Promethazine to help with sleep I’m still worrying constantly that it won’t work or I will build a tolerance to it and go days without sleep. My sleep issues haven’t even got super bad but I just get so much anxiety over it and end up panicking in the middle of the night and being sick from anxiety.

I’m considering whether sertraline would help me be less anxious before baby comes. I remember from last time it affected my sleep before it kicked properly.

Just wondered if people had any advice and if sertraline had helped them whilst pregnant. Or if you know of any other things you can take (in the UK) while pregnant to help with sleep please let me know.

What week did nausea and vomitting stop for you? I'm at 15 weeks and really thought second trimester would be easier but I feel the vomitting is ramping up again 🥲 Looking for some light at the end of the tunnel pls let me know what week it eased for you if you had it super rough too
