What bits has everyone bought to start weaning baby? Also does anyone have any weaning book recommendations?

I have just bought some bowls that suction to the table, spoons and some baby rice to mix with breast/formula milk just to get baby use to the idea and then looking in to baby led weaning. Hoping someone can advise a good weaning book here! X

I have read "weaning" by Annabel Karmel and "How to Wean your baby" by Charlotte Stirling-Reed. Both very good and informative but totally different approaches which is a bit confusing so I would suggest just reading one book! I personally preferred to read Annabel Karmel's but the other one is very highly recommended.

I’ve got an annual subscription to the Solid Starts app. It’s usually a bit pricey but I managed to get 20% off, so it came to £50 for the year. It has loads of useful info on first foods, how to safely prepare and serve them to babies and lots of different recipes too x

💕 Breastfeeding hormones – has anyone else felt like this? 🤱🏼

I’m around 3 months postpartum and feel like breastfeeding has affected me more than I expected. I love the bond with my little boy, but my sex drive has disappeared, and sometimes I feel like I’ve lost a bit of myself. 🥺

I’d love to hear from other mums who’ve experienced this!

💗 Did your sex drive come back while breastfeeding, or only after stopping?

💗 Did you feel more emotional or unlike yourself?

💗 Did anything help, or did things improve naturally over time?

I love breastfeeding and don’t necessarily want to stop, but I’d love to feel more like myself again. ❤️

Any advice or experiences would be really appreciated! 🫶🏼

How often are you breastfeeding after baby turned 1?

Health visitor said to reduce so it doesn't ruin appetite for food but just wondering how often others are doing it. Thanks x

Winter sleeping advice

Ok so this may sound like a dumb question but what’s everyone doing during colder nights now? So my room is normally around 21-22 degrees, whenever the temp drops below 21 in the house the heating comes on automatically. With a LO now, I’m finding it hard to navigate, and I’m extremely anxious about overheating. So with the heating on, we keep the babies in 0.5 tog sleep sack with vest and sleepsuit. But as the nights get colder I wonder whether I need to put them in a 1.5 or 2.5 tog so they are cosy during the times the heating is off. But it’s never going to be that cold because the heating turns on anyways… I’m so confused and it’s possible I’m over thinking this but hey that’s post partum for you 🤣🤣 I wake up at night scared they’re over heating sometimes and if I go up a tog, my anxiety is going to get worse. But I also don’t want them to be cold. Please help!! Is it normally one or the other, like either have the heating on or put them in thicker sleep sack? Never both?

TIA x

Triple feeding

Looking for advice/ support re triple feeding. I have a 3 month old little boy. I was keen from the start to breastfeed him but things didn't really go as planned. I had an emergency csection, and i guess milk came in later than expected. Initially it was all ok, he was gaining weight as per normal, didn't loose much after 5 days.
It all went downhill from the 6 week review i had with the gp as he dropped half centile and gp advised i top up after each feed.
I was then referred to the infant feeding support team and they advised i start pumping 8 to 12 times per day and top up... started doing that straight away..
After a few weeks with no changes, i went private and was told my LO has a posterior tongue tie and was recommended to see an osteopath. We had the division done a week ago, saw the osteopath twice... and still no changes.. i feel like he is having more and more from the bottle. I am doing paced feeding with the bottle and he did gain weight in the meantime.. which seems to indicate that the triple feeding is working but i am so so tired of pumping all the time... does anyone have any success stories with the triple feeding? Does it ever end? Desperate to just exclusively breastfeed my lovely little one
