No sleep

Hi mamas im in need of help desperately. My son is 16m up all night no matter what routine bed time or schedule we do. He will only sleep 9 hours max at night and will still wake 2/3 times no matter what I do. I put him down at 8 to at least try and get sleep myself. He wakes up at 3/4 every morning no matter WHAT I do and if I put him to bed earlier he wakes up at 2/3 and will stay up until 5am. I’ve tried capping his nap times everything google says I’ve tried. I have no village it’s just me and my husband and I solo parent everyday except Sunday. My doctor is no help so trying to find a new one. Any suggestions or advice?

Oh we are in the same boat. My 16m old just wants to get up and play in the middle of the night. Between that and work and my mom being in the hospital I just need sleep. I wish i had advice, from my teenage kids all I know is that this too shall pass…

Is he able to fall asleep independently? If it’s not a schedule issue, then that’s usually all it takes

How many naps does he take and for how long? When he wakes 3/4am, is he up for the day?

Have you tried to not cap his daytime naps and let him sleep as long as he wants for his naps?

Im in the same boat the last two weeks since i gave birth to my second son. Now my 16 month old wakes every single hour. It’s pretty easy to put him back to sleep with his paci. But i don’t want him to use a paci anymore but it seems impossible to wean him the same way it seems impossible to get him to sleep in his own bed. And he’s been crying so much now, for everything he just screams and cries all day and idk why. It doesn’t help that i have to feed my newborn every 2 hours too, and his crying wakes him up also. And sometimes my newborns crying wakes up my toddler even more now. I have a constant headache due to lack of sleep

I’m in the exact same boat. The only thing that’s really working for less wake ups is his tired tank, lots of laughing and movement and filling his cup up as much as I can 😭 it’s so hard I know, I’m running on empty too.

Sleeping bags

I’m a FTM looking for some advice please.

I’ve just started putting my 9 week old in her sleeping bag at night the temperature when we go to bed is around 20/21 degrees I have been putting her in a 1 tog sleeping bag with her sleepsuit per the guide on the sleep bag. The temperature is dropping to about 16/17 degrees throughout the night making it colder.

Would you continue to put her in the 1 tog or would you put her in a warmer tog when she’s going to bed knowing the temperature is going to drop? I am worried about overheating her. TIA xx

Did anyone else not really love breastfeeding?

I breastfed for 18 months and it was more because I knew it was good for baby and then when we got into it, it was for convenience and ease. But I also felt that it took things away like baby being able to spend long periods of time with family (he wouldn’t take a bottle), and also I had a lack of freedom lol.
I’d do it again and don’t regret it but I never got the “I love breastfeeding, I love the closeness, it’s magical” kinda feeling that I read people talking about.

18 month old still has witching hour?

Help?!!!! My 18 month old from the day he was born has been absolute hell past 4pm. No matter how much sleep he has he whinges and cries at EVERY thing, all evening. My partner is really stressed out with it, as we thought by now he might have grown out of it. He’s sleeps 7:30pm- 6am, and 11:30-1:30 day nap. Eats WELL, that is what he actually mostly whinges at now… Always screaming at the kitchen cupboards. I don’t know what to do😩 is this happening to anyone else

Tampons after birth

When did you start using tampons after birth?

I’m 6 weeks post c-section today and started my first period. I absoloutely hate pads with a passion I’m so fed up of them I just want to start using tampons again but information online is misleading.

Did anyone find that when they got their period their milk supply got less? Think my first period is starting and noticed I'm finding I'm pumping less and less milk at the moment and wonder if they're connected.
