I am currently 32 weeks pregnant and stay home with my 4 and 2 year old girls. The exhaustion has been unreal recently and I've been so impatient and cranky and low energy, it's been making me feel guilty and honestly making me question if we should even have them at home with me vs daycare. Like today, I've snapped at them for fighting, sat them in front of the TV for an hour so I could finally shower and shave, fed them nachos and grapes for lunch, and have mostly just let them play together rather than take them anywhere, do activities with them, etc. I'm doing the bare minimum it feels like. They're still clean, teeth brushed, fed, supervised (within earshot) and the house is baby proofed. I do help them with things, give cuddles, and engage with them in low energy ways. But man what if this is just the next 8 weeks?? Am I a terrible mom?

I'm 18w pregnant and have a very active 15 month old. If I'm honest I just have to exist in survival mode. The TV is on all day

Im 37 weeks and have an 8,6&5. I homeschool too. Im becoming so irritable. Ive been slacking on the house. Honestly I just keep reminding myself that the baby will be here soon and it wont be the 3 of them for much longer. I sit outside with them while they ride bikes. Took them to McDonald's yesterday sat and watched them play lol. Planning on craving pumpkins this weekend and having a fire tonight with smores. Some days I turn on the tv, put a movie on, make popcorn and nap on the couch while they watch TV 𤣠its so normal to feel this way right now! You're doing just fine

survival is tough, youāve gotta do what youāve gotta do. iām only 10 weeks pregnant but absolutely exhausted and i have an active 15 month old and thereās some days where he just plays, watches tv and what not and i feel awful but if itās what we have to do to get through then so be itš

You are šÆ not a terrible mum, but a very exhausted one.
Is there a reason why you dont want them in daycare? Even if it's just part-time to help you feel more refreshed and feel like a better mum? They'll also get to play and make new friends. Looking after a 4 and 2 year old can be tough enough without being 32 weeks pregnant so you definitely aren't a terrible mum, far from it

Idk sounds like you are doing a great job to me. Pregnant with one toddler is hard enough, but two is a lot! I didnāt read one thing that made me think you were a terrible mom.
If you are a SAHM, do you send your 2-3 year old to preschool? Iām genuinely confused because people keep asking me why my not even 3 year old isnāt in preschool yet. While I was working she was in āearly preschoolā which was literally just daycare. I also keep seeing social media posts of 2 and 3 year olds going to āpreschool.ā I am a SAHM now, why would I willingly send my 2 year old to daycare and pay money for that, and lose the precious time we have together before she starts school. She has other opportunities to socialize and she is incredibly smart! Maybe societal expectations are changing but my siblings and I didnāt start preschool until 4 and it was only a half day (and free through our public school!) Isnāt it best for our babies to be home with us if possible?
Someone tell me Iām not crazy?! š

As a stay at home mom I understand that my job is mainly house chores and childcare when heās working but I asked him to help with giving our son a bath and he started complaining about how thatās my job and how Iām so lucky to be a stay at home mom and I need to stop complaining. I feel terribly guilty and bad when he brings that up. Of course Iām extremely lucky and blessed to be a stay at home mom but that doesnāt mean that some days or weeks are just hard. I feel weak for asking for help and I donāt think I should feel like that. These are his kids too and I shouldnāt have to ask him to just be a parent. Idk am I in the wrong?
I even told him he doesnāt need to do anything at home like laundry, cooking, cleaning because I understand thatās my duty at home. Maybe Iām the one whoās wrong idk.
Then when I try to talk to him about me struggling heāll tell me just wait until you start working then youāll regret ever complaining. But if I work Iāll still be coming home after a long work day to still cook, clean, and take care of the kids.

For context I am a fully qualified early years teacher and I am more than competent in teaching and looking after my daughter.
We recently got a confirmation that our daughter can start nursery in 2028. (She will be 2) however Iāve realised Iām not comfortable with this (history of working in nurseryās and knowing what happens behind the scenes) and also I can simply do it all myself and I am happy to.
My husband tells me that he wants her to start nursery then and not stay home and let me care for her because she needs to go to nursery. I donāt understand why he would rather send her to be cared for by random people when Iām a stay at home mum and qualified to do it myself.
I also donāt really see how he gets much of a say in it (outside of just a general opinion) as it doesnāt affect him at all whether she is home with me or at nursery as Iāll be doing it all anyway? And he will be saving money if she doesnāt goā¦
Parents who have not sent their child to nursery can you comment experiences.
