So my son just turned 2 this month (October) and suddenly is fighting naps and already was a low sleep needs and now is waking up for a couple hours every other night and he just wants to be held and rocked to sleep like he as a baby. Like literally standing up only too. I don’t know if this is a phase or some kind of habit he’s gotten into out of our desperation to get him to fall asleep.
We have been cosleeping with him halfway through the night. Usually with soothe him back to sleep once or twice before we stay the night with him in his room.
I’m solo parenting this week and partner is out of town for work and I’m literally going crazy with the lack of sleep.
He was up for like 3 hours last night and I was trying so hard not to give into standing and rocking him or walking around the kitchen which is what he wanted.
Like is this a temporary thing or a habit he got into? We’ve tried sleep training and gave up around 15 months when it just wouldn’t stick with him and it started to be too much and didn’t feel like it was a healthy thing for him but I’m seriously debating on figuring out how to do it again now that we got rid of his toddler bed and cosleep during the night.

I’m sorry your going through this 2 is a hard age

It's the 2 year sleep regression.

Similar to most of the others. Usually a couple of weeks.

My 2yr old had the same problem not to long ago I noticed he sleeps better when he gets more sunlight/ outside time. Ik it’s hard to get out when you’re tired tho. Does he get gassy? Sometimes my son will and that’s why he wants me to hold him to sleep bc he can’t get comfy laying down.

Oh bless you, that sounds exhausting, especially being on your own this week 😭🤍 I honestly wouldn’t assume it’s a bad habit, it could just be a phase where he’s needing a bit more comfort. Maybe try tweaking his nap a little if he’s always been low sleep needs? I wouldn’t rush back into sleep training if it didn’t work for you before either. Hopefully it’s just a phase because being awake for 3 hours in the middle of the night sounds absolutely brutal 😂😭🤍
Has anyone got any advice on sleep training? My nearly 15 week old is fine at night sleeps in her moses basket in our room still but in the day she will not go down in the cot in the living room as soon as I put her down she’s awake and won’t go back to sleep 😩

I'm a bit baffled because I didn't realise it could happen this soon. Now I'm prange sleeping.
I placed her on her back. When we woke for feeding she was on my belly. 🥴

My baby is almost 11 months old and he’s always fed to sleep even at bedtime. Now I feel like he’s starting to drop bottles, I struggle to get him to nap.
Like today, he had a filling lunch so refused his 3.30pm bottle for his nap, I resorted to having to drive around in the car to get him to sleep. I tried rocking and he just cries and tried to turn.
Any ideas on how I can start to get him to fall asleep with no bottle?

My daughter is 11months and can get up on the sofa but she jumps around on it like she has 9 lives, which obviously doesn’t really mix with a kid who has no sense of danger. She doesn’t get off safely and i can’t trust her to be on it but she’s desperate to do it since shes figured it out. Shes in a climbing phase anything she can be on she is, shes relentless too
My sons 4 and i can’t remember how i did it with him it’s like he just got it randomly, he still climbed alot but always safely
How did you get your young children to be safer on the sofa or just things in general?

Im a FTM and my 5 week old daughter is going through a stage of either not sleeping or sleeping too long, This morning she woke up at 4 and didn’t go back to sleep until 9:30, Between that time she had about 12oz of milk and slept for 8 hours, Has anyone else had this with their baby? Should I be worried and wake her up if she sleeps for that long again? Just looking for a bit of advice
