I didn’t. being bored is okay, and actually good! i just involved my kiddo in everything i did rather than trying to distract her or keep her entertained. what did help was having a predictable routine. having a daily flow that my daughter could predict helped encourage her to have some more moments here and there of being content with independent play. but 11months is still so young, so try to keep realistic expectations 🫶🏽

Singing lullaby’s, reading books, walks. I use to let my son play in the tub (not bath time) but just bc he loved the water and it’s also relaxing for them I believe. It’s okay if she’s bored tho as long as she’s not in distress could also just play some good music for her. One thing I wish I would’ve started sooner is narrating my day to my LO, could be considered entertainment or conversation for her

Honestly, my son loves to watch what I'm doing.
From a young age I've always spoke to him about everything I'm doing and just kept doing it! I'd say he's at his most entertained when I'm like doing Ng basic things like putting clothes in the washing machine. I even get him involved and get him to close the door 😂
If he's not happy with his toys I tend to give him something not "toy related" you'll be amazed how much entertainment a pot and plastic/ wooden spoon can give a toddler! My son is 13 months xx

Yes definitely water my girl is 18m and she's still obsessed with water when she was littler I'd put her in the same room as me in her high chair and pour some water on the tray and she'd have a blast for like forever and now I put her on the floor and put some water in some cups and bowls for her to dump out and fling around she has a lot of fun I also give her plain Cheerios (not on the floor tho in case she eats them) and they get all soggy in the water and she likes to squish them and move them from bowl to bowl and feed them to the dogs also bubbles are a big hit and if you add a little sugar to the bubble liquid it makes them not pop so easy so she can hold them
my baby daddy went mad at me as he found out i was ‘using his child maintenance’ to buy nappies from Aldi/Lidl instead of buying Pampers. Valid or is he being as ridiculous as I feel like he is? 😂

I’m Belgian but lives the UK. Everyone around me is taking a week off of work to potty train their child.
As in, they’re using a week of precious annual leave for this, and then they don’t leave the house for days, quite literally locking themselves inside with their kid bum-naked, and « potty train ».
NO ONE does that where I come from. Potty training is seen as a longer, more organic process.
If you’re not British, can you say whether most people take days off to do potty training where you come from / where you live?

How are you guys handling having to send your kids to daycare or having a nanny?
I’m a first time mom and I’m terrified of anyone watching her but me. My daughter will be four months when I go back to work but with how the world is today and all the viruses and sicknesses I just don’t trust anyone.

LO is turning 2 and testing boundries and my other half shouts at her to tell her off where as I’d rather explain things so she understands. I then have a go at him for shouting and we end up arguing over it because he thinks I’m too soft. Anyone else have these issues or just me?

I’m supposed to go back to work soon with a fully remote wfh position. Customer service but with no calls. My baby is absolutely so low management. He can play and spend so long by himself as long as I’m the room and the only fussiness starts during the night or when he s due a feed. I’m still a little worried about it but is anyone in a similar position? How are you handling it and making it work?
