Co sleeping? Is it dangerous?

I had been co sleeping with my 6 month little girl for the past month, I met up with my friend who’s a nurse and she told about an 8 month old baby passed away due to co sleep (rolled on her tummy and couldn’t move).
It really scared me so the past week we have transferred her to her cot (still next to our bed) but she is wakes 7-10 times a night and I’m exhausted and struggling so bad.
Do you guys co sleep or has anyone successfully got their co sleeping baby into their cot?
Any advice would be amazing❤️

I Co sleep now and with my first one. We did great. Most babies by that age know how to roll both ways so I wonder if she had a sleep sack on or not. Because with my first he was always rolling from back to front and front to back no issues. I co sleep with my 3 month old too and we’re doing great all of us get great sleep and it’s way easier to breastfeed him to. Actually a lot of moms co sleep with their kids and babies. I only see it being dangerously if there’s a ton of blankets or if they are heavy or the bed is crowded. But it’s up to you really. People will say don’t because of sids but that has nothing to do with sids anyway they will try to scare you all the time about it. And actually co sleeping safely reduces the risk of sids. I co slept with my son until he turned 1 then he got in his own bed and I stayed in there until he fell asleep and I’d turn on white noise or some soft music and that kept him sleep

Check out the page happycosleeper on Instagram. There are safe ways to bed share with your baby ❤️ i never thought I would but I also have a baby that woke up 7x a night. You could also look into a sidecar crib. Essentially you take one side of a crib off and attach the crib to your bed. That way baby has their own space but you can sleep right beside them.

Yes I co sleep. And part of my job is to look after babies who have sadly passed away unexpectedly, including from SIDS and cosleeping deaths. So even though I see it more than most people, it's still something I'm confident that can be done safely.

Happy co sleep on IG recently did a video breaking down the statistics of the number of co sleeping deaths and whether they were "safe" or not

I definitely cosleep, it’s what humans have done since the beginning of human existence- what I suggest is getting something like an Owlet sock so you can have peace of mind when she’s in bed with you - I’ve had it with all three babies and we all have slept wonderful because of it

DNA Test

My baby’s dad performed a DNA test on him and my baby without my knowledge or consent. My baby wasn’t even a month old at this point. Any advice or thoughts? He’s not on the birth certificate.

How to get baby to nap without feeding?

My baby is almost 11 months old and he’s always fed to sleep even at bedtime. Now I feel like he’s starting to drop bottles, I struggle to get him to nap.

Like today, he had a filling lunch so refused his 3.30pm bottle for his nap, I resorted to having to drive around in the car to get him to sleep. I tried rocking and he just cries and tried to turn.

Any ideas on how I can start to get him to fall asleep with no bottle?

Cold and flu

How do people deal with colds and flu when you are breastfeeding and can't take cold and flu tablets? I had my flu jab yesterday but they said that it takes 2 weeks to work. My husband has a nasty cold and is taking cold and flu tablets, I can feel myself starting to get it but I checked with the doctor today and they said that I cant take the tablets due to breastfeeding as there is a decongestant ingredient which impacts the milk. How do people manage to care for their baby while fighting sickness and trying to avoid passing it on to them?

Is this normal?

Im a FTM and my 5 week old daughter is going through a stage of either not sleeping or sleeping too long, This morning she woke up at 4 and didn’t go back to sleep until 9:30, Between that time she had about 12oz of milk and slept for 8 hours, Has anyone else had this with their baby? Should I be worried and wake her up if she sleeps for that long again? Just looking for a bit of advice
