Safe sleep

Can anyone help, my baby is 1 month and I cannnot get him to sleep safely.. he will feed then fall asleep on me but as soon as I transfer to his cot he wakes up and is so unsettled. I wait for him to be fully asleep and place my hand on his belly as I settle him, but the transition always wakes him and he becomes unsettled - he will happily sleep on me for hours but Im so scared of the SIDS risk and cannot keep myself awake at night to watch him
- any advise to putting a baby to sleep that doesn’t involve a boob or cuddle?

Try using a hot water bottle on his cot before he gets in it.

I have the same thing so would love advice!

One thing I do which sometimes works is waiting until he is in a super, super deep sleep. Then I take him off my chest and lay him flat so he is still on me but mimicking how he will be in the next to me. Then I leave him like that for 10 minutes, and then really slowly put him in the next to me. Then I put my phone next to it and play baby white noise. It doesn't always work but its been getting better.

Its so tough

Look up sleep safe 7 for cosleeping. Also recommend happy cosleeper on Instagram x

Heyy I'm so sorry that sounds so difficult!! I have a 5 week old atm. I'm breastfeeding too.

I roughly know that she needs to feed on me for 25-30 minutes for her to be full. If she's fallen asleep before that then I'll nudge her awake a bit to continue feeding until she's full.

I also swaddle her too and warm up her bed with a heating pad. (I turn this off long before she goes into the bed so it's nice and warm when she does go down).

On transferring. Once she's off boob and on my shoulder (I normally try and burp just in case she has gas). Then I'll start the transfer. Put her bum down first then slowly lower the rest of her body until her head is down. Keep your hands underneath her head and bum for a little until she's fully laid down and relaxed. That's normally when I'll remove my hands from underneath and get back to bed.

I really hope it helps! 🩷

My little girl is 6 weeks, she’s a really chill baby and loves comfort at all times! Currently in her next to me sleeping but it’s day time, night times she co sleeps, I feel selfish but it’s how we are getting good stretches during the night, once I lay her down in next to me the legs go up and the arms are scrambling!

Bras after breastfeeding

Can anyone recommend some good bras now that I’ve finished breastfeeding and I’ve got 2 half empty sacks? 🤣
I’ve tried the brands Lounge, Boux Avenue (no underwire) and NEXT (underwire.)

They either slip underneath during the day or towards the middle 🥴💕

Freezing hands at night!

Hello everyone,

What are we doing with our little one’s hands at night? Her nursery was at 18.5 degrees last night and she has a vest, a sleepsuit and her 2.5 tog sleeping bag but when she woke up this morning her little hands were freezing cold even tho her chest was warm!

I always feel extremely bad when I pick her up to cuddle in the morning and those little hands are freezing. I know some people are using the built in mittens of the sleepsuit but it doesn’t work for her because she self soothes during the night by sucking her hands so having them covered wouldn’t work for her!

Anyone else in this situation?

How many feeds?

How many feeds is baby having overnight?

Baby is nearly 7 weeks old. He tends to fall asleep downstairs on one of us around 8pm, then when we go up to bed around 10-11pm we give a bottle of formula.

He then sleeps until around 2-3am when he wakes for a nappy change and a breastfeed. He will then go back down until around 5am when we do another change and breastfeed. At this point he gets quite fussy in the next to me so I tend to bring him into bed with me to get more sleep until 7-8am

What are your nights looking like?

Diapers

I have a 20m old and a 2 month old. Both boys. My 20m old is in size 5 daytime and overnight diapers. My 2m is in size 1. What are we all doing to help with peeing through? Both children pee through their diapers at night (my 2m gets changed during his 3am feeding). I make sure both are always pointed down. do I need to go up a size? I’m at a loss.

Struggling to read cues

I'm a 1st time Mum and my boy is just over 4 weeks. I feel like I'm still struggling to read his cues. It feels like the time between me realising hes hungry and him having a full meltdown is 2 seconds. I feel awful every time he cries. Am I being too harsh on myself? Do babies just cry and its fine and I need to just relax. At what point did you feel like you knew what your baby wanted?
