We have tried the whole self sooth with a dummy method and it works a couple of times, but most of the time he’s fed to sleep or rocked. Please tell me we’re not the only ones who’s babies aren’t fully self soothing yet?

Feed all the way 💕 it’s the only way my others would sleep.
This one sometimes gets fussy when feeding and over tired so pop him in the sling with a dummy and he’s goes off quite nicely, then transfer to bed. The transfer sometimes works, sometimes doesn’t but it does make him sleepy enough to feed a little bit and then go off to sleep.
Don’t fall victim to all the stuff saying babies need to self settle etc, sure it works for some people and that’s great for them, but for our family and most of those I know having baby close is what works.
If what you are doing is working for your family then keep doing it :) soon enough they’ll be asking to stay at their mates house and fall asleep playing Xbox or something!

There will always be some babies that can self soothe early but the vast majority won’t have that ability until at least 6 months so do not start comparing to those that can self soothe early ❤️ xx

My LO won't self sooth at all so we don't try it. I put her in. A swaddle and feed her wind her then once she is asleep I transfer her then if she wakes I have to pay her bum or back till she falls back asleep.

My 2yr old still doesnt self soothe, she still needs one of us, my 6yr still needs me. I dont like self soothe methods personally they are overrated x

We tried so hard to get our son to self soothe when he was 7 months old, all the gentle methods. We achieved it, were promised this was the thing that would make him sleep, and it absolutely had no impact. I quickly went back to feeding him to sleep because it was the quickest way for us to both get back to sleep & he started sleeping through when he turned 2.
With our 11 week old, I’m not stressing. Feed to sleep & my husband can rock her to sleep as well x

I feel like a lot of the time it’s just baby’s temperament tbh, how old is your LO? I don’t think self soothing can really be taught at a young age
My little girls 10 weeks + 5 days and can self soothe pretty well, since she was about 5-6 weeks and gaining weight steadily (she never lost any of her birth weight) we stopped instantly feeding whenever she woke up, and also stopped picking her up when we could hear her fussing, I always wake up to her making any little noise but if she’s not crying or being super loud I’ll wait to see if she’ll go back to sleep, if she gets louder I’ll put her dummy back in but not talk to her and if she’s being extra fussy I’ll shush her and stroke her face and she’ll usually go back to sleep
If she’s wakes up crying then I’ll instantly go straight to her and try to settle her in the crib, if she doesn’t settle we get her out for a nappy change and a bottle and she usually goes right back to sleep
Who else baby go to sleep at 3am ,4am, 5am,6am ?! And wakes up at 2pm or 4pm and is only 5 months old ?

I’m currently 16 days pp from a c section and I constantly have a headache. I’ve had it since around day 5. Did anyone else have this experience and how long did it last? It’s the one thing getting me down!

Help! My son is a little over nine months old and changing his diaper and putting clothes on him is an absolute nightmare. Anybody have any suggestions to help me not lose my sanity with changing and dressing my little alligator at this point?
I’ve tried singing and toy distraction and at this point it doesn’t work anymore. Lol.

Hi, any EBF mamas here - when did you get your first period back after giving birth? I am currently 4.5 months PP and haven’t gotten mine back yet, I know if you’re breastfeeding it normally takes a while to get it back but just curious to know how long it took others!

My newborn struggles to settle and stay asleep, especially when I try to put them down.
He sleeps amazingly during the day, but between 10pm and 4am he is so restless..
What tips or routines have helped your babies sleep better? Any advice on getting through those unsettled nights would be really appreciated!
