Colic/ Witching hour /PURPLE crying

My daughter is 6 weeks and we’re dealing with the inconsolable crying in the evenings. Some call it witching hour/colic/PURPLE crying. Anyone have any success getting relief for their babies? I’m desperate to help my little girl feeling better

Have you tried gripe water?

My son has spurts and just being held usually calms him. The dr gave me a paper though that says going for a drive, walk/fresh air/ swaddling ect.

A few things that help my baby (he’s almost 8 weeks and we are on week 2.5 of these evenings):
-a hair dryer sound on youtube
-going into the dark bathroom and turning on the faucet or bathtub
-a paci with a larger nipple angled up to the roof of his mouth so he can feel it
-hold him in front of the open freezer for a minute or two, or cold air outside if available.
-dark, quiet rooms. calm vibes.
These help him reset long enough to help him fall asleep normally. Most importantly, don’t switch tactics too often- stick to the same thing for a while before you try something else so you’re not overstimulating them

Gas drops!! I use Infants Mylicon Gas Relief and give them about 5 mins in to nursing when it gets close to his witching hour. Approved by my pediatrician 🫶 also when that doesn’t work, these are some things that have provided temporary relief so my husband and I can recoup… combo of burping, shushing, bouncing, and walking to different rooms (yes all at the same time lol), putting him on his Skip Hop changing pad (he loves the mobile and something about hard-ish surfaces), putting him in his crib (also firm surface + high contrast mobile distracts him), changing his diaper even if it’s just a little pee, and lastly switching off with my husband really helps keeps us sane and ready to jump back in. You got this Mamas!

Postpartum headache

I’m currently 16 days pp from a c section and I constantly have a headache. I’ve had it since around day 5. Did anyone else have this experience and how long did it last? It’s the one thing getting me down!

First period after birth

Hi, any EBF mamas here - when did you get your first period back after giving birth? I am currently 4.5 months PP and haven’t gotten mine back yet, I know if you’re breastfeeding it normally takes a while to get it back but just curious to know how long it took others!

Rolling around

Help! My son is a little over nine months old and changing his diaper and putting clothes on him is an absolute nightmare. Anybody have any suggestions to help me not lose my sanity with changing and dressing my little alligator at this point?
I’ve tried singing and toy distraction and at this point it doesn’t work anymore. Lol.

Mil stupid opinions

My Mil is visiting every other Saturday , stays for an hour or so to see my baby , never asks if i need any help or support knowing that i am struggling with taking care of baby, cleaning and cooking, doing my masters degree and also studying for my driving theory test. Yesterday she started asking me questions about when I am going to start sleep training cause she thinks my baby needs to learn how to be more independent (we cosleep). It really pisses me off that i have no help from her whatsoever but she dares to give me sarcastic advices even if this doesn’t impact her at all. She s saying that her kids used to rock themselves to sleep and was very adamant from the beginning that newborn are able to self sooth , making comments about me wearing the carrier to often , or the fact that i rock the baby to sleep. When i was pregnant she used to say that she will be here all the time to help me out cause my baby is her only grandchild, the only help i have ever received was a roast dinner the day i came back from the hospital after a c section. She was against me having an elective c section because she would not be able to be in the room when the baby was born , getting upset and talking behind my back to the whole family about the fact that i dont know what a c section implies( i recovered very quickly and it was the best decision ever).
Long story short, i am european and she is english, i know there are so many differences in our culture but it just pisses me off so much to the point where i absolutely hate having her around. Worst part is that i can t say anything because my partner loves her to death, obviously being his mom and also my family is not around and they are all i have. She knows i m dealing with postpartum depression, she knows i am feeling really lonely and i can t drive atm , but she just never seems to care or makes a little effort to make my life easier. Asking for advice, i am feeling really down atm and i feel like i started holding a grudge

2 under 2!

We’re two weeks into this new chapter 💗

Would love to hear how you manage a newborn and a toddler, especially when you’re on your own with both. Any tips or little things that have helped you would be so appreciated! 🫶🏼💕
