hey guys! i’m pregnant with my first and am so torn between a c-section or a vaginal/natural birth? i never really imagined myself having a c-section but with 1 in 4 births being emergency c-sections nowadays, i don’t know if i should just psych myself up for one?
would love to know what other mums have done, birth experiences, if you’ve done both etc.
TIA! xxx

Honestly I think what helped me when I was pregnant was not having any plan or expectations then I couldn’t be disappointed with whatever happened. I just took it as it come as I didn’t know what to expect!
I went for a natural birth, decided on pain relief at the time depending on how I was feeling and coping and knew that if for whatever reason I needed a c-section then that’s what would happen. I didn’t need one which I was pleased about and had a really good completely unmedicated natural birth but honestly I was open to whatever could happen and it took so much pressure off

I had 0 expectations for my birth I wanted to just go with whatever was best at the time, I didn’t want to plan a c section as I was just going with the flow and hoping for a safe delivery.
I ended up being induced and having an emergency c section. Now I’m not sure whether I would have a planned c section for my next 🤷🏼♀️ I felt a bit robbed of a vaginal birth when I could have planned a c section and avoided the emergency but you just will never know until it happens!
I wouldn’t put pressure on yourself for either delivery just go with what you feel is best for you and your baby. Both have their pros and cons.

You should write down a birth plan but keep an open mind as everything can change last minute.
From my research and experience (had a natural one and then then second one was cesarian by choice), a natural birth is always the best, for you and for the baby. But obviously, there can always be some sort of complications during each one. The doctors will go through everything with you when the time comes, but please please do your own research! I always questioned my midwife and doctors if I wasn’t sure about something or if it was different from my previous experience/what I read.
I never wanted a cesarian but my induction didn’t work and I didn’t want to go through that excruciating pain from being induced again.
Hello, can anyone advice please?
I dont want to give my daughter my partners surname. It's nothing to do with him, all to do with what I stand for and my morals.
Ive suggested double barrelling which he says it doesn't sound right, which tbh it doesn't. And I've suggested changing all our names to a completely made up one which he doesn't seem too happy about either.
Any advice please?

Went for my 35 weeks scan last weeks and they estimated baby at 2.4kg at 35 + 4. All my pregnancy apps show this is the exact weight to expect for this time but at the scan the doctor said he would like me to have another scan in 2 weeks. They said the baby is in the average but on the small side of the average. I know these estimates are not super accurate but wondered if this happened to anybody else ?

A bit of a long shot, but I’m just looking for a bit of advice - I had my second baby in April this year. After having her, everything was fine. My periods quickly returned to my normal cycle, I started back on Desogestrel in the May. However in August, I randomly got 2 periods in one month. My cycle now is just bleeding more than not, my doctors are saying that it’s just hormones, however I never once experienced this with my first - and it is full blown bleeding, having to double up with pads due to it being so heavy and the pain is unreal ☹️ does anybody have any advice ?!
